Cabelas #27 Leadcore

I have never used Cabelas brand LC and am looking for input from the guys that have good/bad.

I used it last year, and will again this year, and didn't have any problems. Pricewise, you can get 2 full cores for $16, when you pay $13 for 1 core at most local stores.

I have it on a few rods Bromley. I dont notice a difference between it and the stuff on my other rods.....except for its easier on the wallet!

I used some Cortland that someone gave me last year and lost 2 set ups due to breaks in the middle of the cores. I have had knot issues in the past but never had a core break before. The sheath seemed good when i rigged it, maybe it was old stuff who knows!

I have been using Cabalas 27# for years and I like it. Last year I had to buy another brand of 27# and it was thicker. I had to strip off a bunch of backing on my reel to make it fit. I will go back to the Cableas. I try to keep a 2 core spool on board. Good price too.

the cabelas brand is cortland line. you cant tell till you open it up then compare the packaging. It is good stuff used it for about 8 years and now use mostly copper.

I have some spooled right now. It works well.

My uncle and I have both been using it, he has used it much longer than I, but I have not seen any problems with it including rot for the 4 years I have used it. I don't fish as much as a pro charter though but I think it is a good product and should work just fine for you aswell.

I see on cabelas website that they only have 200 yd spools of #27 in NON-LEAD LINE.

I don't want to be the guinea pig....has anyone used this stuff?????

Not sure about the other stuff.......but thats fine! I dont need any more rods on the boat!

I saw that one, but was hoping to save a little bit and get a bigger spool. Kinda crazy that cabelas online store only has 100 yd spools:confused:

We just respooled with 45 lb, from cabelas never had any problems with it Brom. The only problem I have had has a motor and a name on the back!

I used the lead and non lead last year. They were vitually the same in all aspects. Good product, I bought more to replace the line in the future.

they have both non lead and leadcore. I have the lead core on a bunch of my combos and havnt had any issues yet

Bromley, i have been using woodstock brand leadcore with good results. I buy it at fleet farm in green bay. $16.99 for 200yds.
