Priority1 Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Remember "Remember He Haw", and Grampa Jones "Whats for Supper Grandpa" skit. Well were not having turnip greens and back eyed peas, so forget about that crap. First off ya have to have a good cast iron fry pan. Throw away those plastic coated sissy pans, that your wife likes. Why is it, the no scratch POS pans are all scratched up anyway? Start the pan a warmin but not too hot. Add equal amounts of butter and olive oil enough to cover the bottom of the pan and then some. Add some diced sweet onions as little or as much as ya like. Add some salmon fillets, and cook both sides. Remember keep the pan about medium heat. When the fillets are cooked, smother them with your favorite salsa and let the salsa warm up. Nothin to the cookin stuff. Serve with tortilla chips, barley pop, or your favorite soda. I like some tabasco and parmesan sprinkled on mine. Oh!! If some fat A$$ sat on the tortilla chips, just dump the crumbs on your plate and eat em with your fork. For desert a couple of mint cookies. If your going to continue with the barley pop, skip the cookies. This whole darn meal can be prepped and cooked in about 15 minutes. Like I said nothin to this cookin stuff.
Rayman96 Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Sounds like the cookin of Justin Wilson. I really liked his show. Good South Louisiana flavor….at it's best.http://www.justinwilson.com/Good cast iron lasts forever. They will last for generations. I agree, that teflon crap does not do good food justice!
