I have only used 45# copper and have been very happy with it so far. 30# has about the the same sink rate as leadcore so I have not tried any of that weight. (Leadcore is easier to work with and cheaper). If you do go with a 45# copper I would suggest using Howie's super copper seen here. The super copper is nickle plated which makes it more limber and is noticeably easier to work with, I will not buy any other copper. Here is a link to a depth chart that was posted on a different thread.

A big warm Welcome to you.

Like Kyle said, The super is the nicest. 45# is what most (including me) use.

Copper is a good choice, and will get you many fish. The chart.

I use 45# copper. Depending on conditions 300 ft of copper will get you 60-80ft down. You can run 450, 600, 150, 200 or any other length, but I don't have any depths on those lengths.

I use 30# Fireline on mine and I know several who use the 50# Power Pro. I think it's personal preference.

Generally it's recommended that your backing be as strong or stronger than the main line. Therefore if you have a break, you don't lose everything.
