GLF Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Given the state of Lake Michigan, I would like to see Michigan go back to the 5 fish per species limit. I am not sure if the reductions in stockings by all of the surrounding states will be enough. I would rather take a risk on reducing the salmon population to much than have it end up like Lake Huron. Some people struggle to catch the 3 fish limit?I guess we will have to wait and see if the reductions are enough to save the lake.Whats everyone's thoughts on the 3 fish limit?
Steve Arend Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Out of the states that border Lake Michigan, Michigan is the only state with a 5 fish limit only 3 of one species. Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin have a 5 fish limit in combination or of one species other then Lake Trout. Why??????????? I feel we should do as every one else that borders the lake.
Sixshooter Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 I agree. Especially for KINGS. It is ludicrous. 5 Salmon, since half the people can't tell the difference between a king and a coho anywho....they can keep it 3 steelies and 2 lakers don't care much about that....
Just One Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 I've got a hard time catching 1. I dont know what I would do if I caught 5.
