Michigan fisheries officials are seeing signs that a move to reduce the number of Chinook salmon released into Lake Michigan is improving the balance between the popular game fish and its prey.

Maybe if they'd stop the netting by the Indians... we'd have more Salmon to catch. maybe they should issue Michigan state Rods and Reels to the indians... and make the fish as we have to....I wonder... but I know this will never happen.

I don't believe the Indians target Salmon, do they?

Salmon are a bycatch they are not supposed to keep and strangly enough very few end up in the nets. Mostly because the nets are setup for Whitefish which hug the bottom and Salmon seldom hug the bottom and when the do they are pretty much just relaxing.
