Great Lakes Fisherman Outing/Seminar

Jim(1 MAINIAC) asked me what my thoughts were about having a get together during the winter for an outing and having how to's and speakers. I think this is a GREAT idea, and am going to run with it. I am sure I can get plenty of speakers for those who would be interested in listening to seminars.

Who would be interested in something like this?

The first thing to do is to find a good location to have it. I am thinking the Grand Rapids area. Does anyone know of a place around Grand Rapids?

That would be cool, we could always use my church where we have the swap meets every Saturday before the Superbowl, for a small donation to the church. It is located just off 196 in Grandville by Rivertown Crossings Mall. I have access to wireless mic's for the speakers and seating for 200.

For a location you might try the Grand Rapids chapter of the Steelheaders. They are in an old church, and you might be able to team up with them on meeting nights.

I like Tim's idea. Perhaps it can even be held on the same day as the swap meet? The would certainly help increase the size of the audience.

I am kicking around Feb 20, or Feb 27th. I have an outing scheduled for 27 Feb, but may cancel that in favor of this.
