fishsniffer Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 dont know if this has been covered or not...do any guys have a superstition...something you do every trip or you dont think youll catch anything..personally i dont like getting the net out until the first fish is at the back of the boat...sometimes i think leaving dusty at home will increase my catch.(anyone whos fished with me knows about dusty:grin:)

DIRTY DOG Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 The only one I have , would be when i go in the cuddy and sit on the thinking pail , phil ,adam and a few others can vouche for this. Its realy strange , after doing this , it normaly ends up in a limit or close to it.
mattmishler Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 the net goes in the same spot everytime. iv seen it if it goes in a different spot its a day of loosing money.
NO MO BEGGEN Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 i think everyone does this -NO BANANAS ON THE BOAT
flyman013 Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I rub my hands in the water and rinse my face before the first cast. Not sure why, but have been doing it since I was a kid.
Rayman96 Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 It's old....seems to show up at least once a year............
fishsniffer Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 It's old....seems to show up at least once a year............i will be sure and spend more time researching next time...my apologies to you
Blue Knight Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Again no bananas & don't forget to pay the "Fish Gods". I always carry a pile of pennies & if the fishing slows down throw one in in front of each rigger. Bingo, fish on!
Phishy Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Not quite an superstation, but a change of luck ritual; open a beverage of the barley flavor or start to eat a sandwich….if all else fails….grab the pee bucket
Rayman96 Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 i will be sure and spend more time researching next time...my apologies to you No need brother......didn't mean to dash your fun.....go for it!
Just Hook'n Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 We use the "pay the fish gods" method. Keep a roll of pennies on the dash. If fishing gets slow you see who can hit the rod between the reel and first eyelet with a penny. Has to be from a seated position, preferably the captains chair. BINGO that rod will go almost every time. My aim is getting pretty good, but GLF (Mike) is really good at this one.
Priority1 Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Not really a superstition, but if I sit down and put my feet up on the engine cover, it's a sure thing FISHON. Of course when I do this I may have a sandwich or a drink.
Nailer Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 who's dusty??? Your wife???? Welcome aboard Rigger Mortis.
GLF Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 I am not sure if it is a good luck omen or a bad luck omen. The first person that looses a fish on my boat has to strap on the belt. Just ask Jay and Mark!
Rayman96 Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Yeah, that'l make better fisherman!!!!!!!!!!!!
KJ pluggin Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 We always dance on the engine cover when the fishing slows down. Gets them every time. Have to be a little cautious on the bumpy days though.
ALLEYES Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 We always dance on the engine cover when the fishing slows down. Gets them every time. Have to be a little cautious on the bumpy days though. Oh ya ....the ole dog house dance.
Phishy Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I am not sure if it is a good luck omen or a bad luck omen. The first person that looses a fish on my boat has to strap on the belt. Just ask Jay and Mark! Now that is funny!!!
