Billy V Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 This morning Gump and I left Shawn's marina at 5:30am and ran out the where I had all the marks last night. SURPRISE!!! They were still there! Even with all the warm water. We set up a quick 4 rod set and got down to business. Gump didn't believe me that wire dipsys catch fish, so I was out to prove him wrong today and I succeeded in spades. First fish came at 6:15 on a White pro-chip/LBB fly out 310'. Next one came on the JV Cheerleader, and while Gump's fighting it, we double up off the glow frog fished 60' down on a rigger. We dumped the second one, but Gump landed a beautiful 23# King. As I was setting up after that fire drill, the #3 rigger fires and we boated a nice 6# steelie on a habanero fished off a rigger set 50' down. Got set back up again and the JV Cheerleader fires again (out 340') and while Gump's battling in theback of the boat, the #2 rigger fires again...another double! We boated both of them and were back at the dock with all of our fish cleaned by 9:00. Wish we could've stayed out longer but Gump had to go. We ended our 2 hour trip 4 for 5. Here's two of the big boys: There's lots of fish and bait out there guys...get out here and cord 'em up!
