Nailer Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 My son Jacob asked if we could go hunting tonight. This is the first he wanted to go since the youth hunt two years ago. After work tonight I got him every thing he needed, and headed to the farm at 4:30. The plan was to sit in cousin Ryan's blind till dark. When we got to the farm Ryan's truck was there. I decided instead of tromping around, we would just sit with him. Not more than 30 minutes into the hunt Jake spots three deer eating in the field next to us. After a bit one of the deer walks our way. It is a nice doe that has a broken front leg. He didn't want to shoot a doe, but with a permit in hand, I thought we should try to take her. She walks up to 30 yards and faces us. I told Jake to put the bead on her head, drop down to the chest, and pull the trigger. BANG! FLOP! The lucky little $hit missed her chest and hit her square in her head. This boy has been hunting two times now, for a total of 4 hours max.He has gotten a buck and a doe already. That's one lucky kid, and he turns 15 next week.I left the camera home, so no pics.
