Guys I need some help with my fishing set up, as you know I have a Sea Ray Sundancer 320 it has a rather large swim platform in the rear that stick out past the back of the boat by 3 feet, this is why I cannot have a rigger off the back end. So Here's what I have and need help with..

I have two Big Jon captians packs on the side at the very back of the boat, they go in the water right at the corner of the actual Hull, next towards the front of the boat I have a dual Rod Holder for two more poles which I normally run on Wire dipsey off each side. Question is, How can I set it up to run 4 poles off each side, seeing that the riggers have two rod holders each? It's very tight quarters having to have all the poles off the side of the boat.

Please.. with all your knowledge give me some advice on How to set this up so I can maximize my riggers and Rod holders so I can run 8 rods at once.

Your Advice and Knowledge is greatly appreciated as ALWAYS... thanks

I believe you can easily run more then eight rods at once. I would look into a quad tree on each side, with them you can use copper/leadcore off the planers. You can also run 2 dipsies/side, one on a #1 setting and 1 on a #3 setting. Now throw in your standard 2 downriggers that you have and I think you can easily run 14, but the key to this is to invest in a good set of trees. I bought a set this spring and they sure do make it easy to run the leadcore/copper. If you can manipulate the extra rod holder on the downrigger to work as dispy holder you can do that too. We've done it with the walkers when we need to and it works.

agreed....you can run 10 rods without getting a cannonball wet....6 boards and 4 dipseys

I can run up to 20 rods but have never had enough people on to get past 15. normally 9 to 12 rods is plenty and most of the tournies are rod limited so seldom a issue. I have had some great days running just 6 in fact most of the times I have limited out has been a 6 rod spread with just 2 of us in the boat. I have only had a few 4 man limits in the last few years but lots of 2 and 3 man limits.

i no a guy who has the same kinda placement the wife wants a crusier and the boys and him want a fishing boat( 39 sea ray) he has two riggers same spots as you that come off when at port and then he set up a big jon triple on the port and starboard side and four more holders off a tree and everything comes offs of else the wife says no fishing. He can run 16 rods and still has a crusier.

You could also use rod holder track systems like Berts or Traxtech to run your boards off of. I think these would work well with how your boat is set up. Here is an example.

You can also run sliders or stackers off your rigger rods to get a few more lines in the water. Personally I would prefer to run more lead or copper.

Keep your current setup the way it is. Use the duel rod holders for both a high and low diver. Add 4 holders to the rail for 4 high lines, and your good to go. That a total of 10 rods. Its great to put out 12, but 10 is plenty. This type of holder is easy to install and economical. They require no holes in your boat.

You can get them at Boaters world. http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/producte/10001/-1/10001/360752/377%20710%20939/712/rod%20holder/Primary%20Search/mode%20matchallpartial/0/0?N=377%20710%20939&Ne=712&Ntt=rod%20holder&Ntk=Primary%20Search&Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&Nao=0&Ns=0&keyword=rod%20holders&isLTokenURL=true&storeNum=19&subdeptNum=11157&classNum=12451

No Way No more shopping for me this winter or spring...Trying to pay off too many bills for that at this time in my life...I don't want to add anymore rods nor Rod Holders, I already have enough of them now, and yes the Wife is an important factor in this equation as well.

I haven't run a High and Low DIver off the rod Holders Yet, but will certainly try this coming year.
