GLF Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Whats everyones thoughts on having a split ring where you attach your snap swivel to the spoon? Some spoons come with them and others do not. Do you add them, remove them, of fish with it the way it came?
SkeinMachine Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 I leave it as is,reason being the manufacture has field tested the spoon to provide maximum action as is(whether there's a split ring or not on the nose).
Reel Turner Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I wouldn't necessarily agree, although I generally do run spoons as is out of the package. I had a spoon manufacturer, to remain anonymous, tell me once that he doesn't use the stock hooks that were on his spoons..........................makes you wonder what other cost saving things they do? I would suggest if you have the time to run some side by side tests and run what you have confidence in.

McFly Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Just started putting split rings on all my spoons. I'll see how that works out.
