DKuiper Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Went looking for perch on Muskegon Lake Tuesday. Nice day to fish and look but the catching was almost non-existent! Looked and fished in all my favorite spots and a few others but could find no fish worth keeping. Lots of dinks available but we caught only 3 that we might have kept if we'd found a few more. Quite a few boats running around doing the same thing we were it looked like. Water temp was 50. Hoping the first week of November may be better. Talked to one Lake Mich fisherman at the ramp when we came in and he had been trolling solo out there with 1 small king in the box.Hoping the lake will calm down some next week so I can make one more trip for steel or whatever.Duane
Priority1 Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Duane,Thanks for the report. I hope you get at least one more trolling trip, and a few trips for those yellow bellies.
Nailer Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 With the lake at 50 deg. it should be turning over soon. Better luck next time.
Adam Bomb Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Ill give my buddy Dave a call and see if he's been out fishing for perch. He lives right there and hits that quite a bit for perch in the spring. Im sure he fishes it in the fall.
1mainiac Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Best way I know of to tell if the Perch are in is if there are any minnows avail if the bait shop is sold out on Fri they are in.
