what other brands are there out there for speed and temp sensors at the ball? i know of the moor speed troll,the fish hawk and the depth raider. which as i understand all require the coated cable. are there any brands out there that use a transducer to send the signal back and forth? besides the above mentioned three are there any out there that you guys really like? thanks for the input and help

The Fish Hawk uses a transducer. I know people had problems with the old units but the new ones seem to be a big improvement. They are more expensive than the Moor or Depthraider.

I am using the new Fish Hawk x-4 probe, with the old style head unit. I fished 19 trips on it before I changed the batteries. I probably average 6 hours per trip. This is a huge improvement over the old style probe. There is a lot less blow back with the new probe.
