The 2009 State of the Great Lakes report claims that concentrations of persistent organic pollutants such as PCBs and the pesticides we banned in the 1970s and '80s continue to decrease. But this is true only if the most toxic situation in the Great Lakes, Lake Superior's toxaphene pollution, is ignored.
