salmontime Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Don't know if there is a thread already started for this, so sorry if there is...Just wanted to see how many people out there fish in 16 footers or smaller for salmon. Join the group to talk shop!
Vitalidle Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 I have a 16ft polar craft that I fish out of when I don't use the big boat:D
anthonyyost Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 I had a nice 16' Starcraft that I sold because I could never work up the nerve to venture out beyond the breakwall in it. I bought the 20' Thompson, which is still for sale, and last fall bought the SeaRay 270 Amberjack.Guess I wouldn't have made a good sailor. My neighbor and his father fish out of a 12' aluminum boat, they must be good swimmers.
flyman013 Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 I fish out of a seventeen foot boat. It works great for me. We did get caught in some 4-5 footers in Munising Bay, and it handled the waves very well.
1mainiac Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 I don't use the front 10ft very much only fish out of the back 16ft LOL
Nailer Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 My 18 foot Crestliner is 30+ years, and counting. Handles the waves ok.
joelsanders Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 i like how easy the smaller boats trailer, and the economy ....at least when reverse dont blow out! LOL!
