Jim F
Well we kept hearing about this great temperature break way out in the lake----soooooooo we decided to try it. We looked and looked and could not find anything close to a good break on the surface. We motored out to 550 FOW. Quite an interesting sight seeing both coasts on the radar with us in the middle. It was a beautiful day for a boat ride and disappointing as well since we only managed to bag two lakers. We did have two rips that didn't hook up that may have been steel head. Didn't mark ANY fish and after several hours of plying the deep waters we came back in to about 340 and fished a little managing to catch a dink salmon which we returned to the lake.Come on JULY!!!!Jim FelchTenacious II

GLF
I never found the temp break on the surface out of Muskegon. There was a dramatic temperature change between the surface and 20' down. Surface temp in 375FOW was 56*. My down temp, 20' down was 43*.

Just Hook'n
HOLY COW. 550 ft. I didn't think the lower bowl got that deep. You sure you were not in Ludington, or maybe TC? Probrably drove far enough to get there.

Jim F
We knew it was a bit of a gamble and there were no good reports in close unless you wanted to catch Lakers which we try to avoid in most cases. It was about 41 miles from the Saugatuck pier basiclly straight out. It took about an hour and 15 minutes going about 30 MPH. One of the guys along took a picture of the radar and sonar while we were out deep----I'll try to get a copy and post it.Jim F.Tenacious II
