Just Hook'n Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Went allllll the way out to 250 befor we dropped lines, thinking we'd troll for a while to 300. WRONG. Trolled for 2 hours still only in 270fow and getting nowhere. Marked nothing, caught nothing, decided to pull lines and get shallow. Ran in to 160 and setup moving east. First fish in 145fow, second in 125. Marked a lot of fish at 25-35 in the 130-125 area. Even marked a few down 70 and 120ish. Nothing taking it deep. Ended up 2 for about 4. 5 color with nitro nbk. 3 color with nitro napalm. Missed on on double orange crush on 3 color. Missed another on dipsey 150back with nbkflahser and green fly. Just bumped it, may have never really hooked up. Didn't pop dipsey. MAN, was it pretty out there.
silver one Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Tough fishing right now. always is this time of year. But you did not get the big goose egg. Nice job.
Just Hook'n Posted June 15, 2009 Author Posted June 15, 2009 I was really worried when we were out deep about the skunk. 2 new guys on board and I didn't want them to experience the skunk early on my boat. That was a close one.
1mainiac Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Nice save Mark and it really is a long ways out to 300 at Sheldon even longer if you end up nearly straight out from Holland when you get that deep.
j1musser Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 At least ya kept that skunk out of the boat. Way to keep going at em. Always hate taking out newbies and not getting anything. Nice catch in tough conditions
