hourlate Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I finally have a free weekend. I would like to get the kids (5 and 3) out to catch a few perch. Anybody hearing anything? I really don't think the boys would be able to handle a few hours out in 280 fow otherwise....
Sea-Mac Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Seen about 10-12 boats in 30-40 fow jus a little north of the piers last Saturday. No idea how they were doing, but if I was to go thats where i'd start looking. Good Luck and have fun with the kids, let us know how you do.
Priority1 Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Marty, Have fun with the kids. Nothing like a mess of the yellow bellies.
hourlate Posted June 13, 2009 Author Posted June 13, 2009 Thanks Guys. I'll let everyone know how we did (well you all understand by we I mean how I do taking any fish off the kids hooks!).Hey just thought of another quick question for anyone. The place I purchased minnows last year closed. Anyone have a clue where to get minnows on the way to the DNR launch on Lake Mac?
DIRTY DOG Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 i heard there is a new bait shop near van weeren hardwear
hourlate Posted June 14, 2009 Author Posted June 14, 2009 With the two little ones we got out quite late. Fished for 6 hours and had 2 gobies (returned with slit stomachs) and 2 perch to show. Naturally, I caught the gobies, but each of the boys (5 and 3) got to catch a perch. They were excited. That is the reason I fish....well and how they taste as well but you all understand. Heard a few boats out early limited out (per DNR at the launch) but most others I talked to produced similar results (couple fish here and there). Little talk on the radio with reports of lakers in 130 fow and steelies and kings in 340 fow. Marty
Nailer Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Marty, the time with the Children is priceless. Keep up the good work.
fishsniffer2 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Love seeing kids faces when they catch a fish! When ever i see the pure excitement of kids catching fish it alway brings back memories of when i was a kid catching fish!
