Just Hook'n Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Nice night on the water with the top up. A little damp, but we were no worse for the wear. Less than 1 footer which is only the second or third time that has happened for us so I was pretty happy. I was joined by my Buddy Matt, his father Larry and his uncle Adrian. What a great bunch. Fishing was S L O W. Ended up 3 for 3 with some nice fish. 8lb king, 9lb king, and a 6 lb laker. Fished in 135-165fow. North troll, south troll, east troll, upside down troll. Didn't seem to matter. Surprisingly the dipseys went twice, each with kings and the 300ft of copper went with the laker. Dipseys were 170back on 2, green dolphin echip with a green and white fly, 150back on 2 with a nbk echip and a green fly. Copper was a nitro nbk stinger after we set our night spread. Wednesday night I changed my hooks on my flies. I went with a single gamakatsu hook with another as a trailer. I had been getting knock offs and fish not making it to the boat with my dipsey/fly setup. NOT last night. Two on two in the box. MAN those hooks are sharp. One hooked on the trailer and one actually hooked on the first hook.
Tad Pole Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 We also were there and also experinced the S L O W fishing. went 3 for 4 fished 150 to 220 fow area pretty much strait out. first fish came on a moonshine mag TNT set down to 75 on the rigger.a 4 pound king. second fish came on the moonshine mandarin minnow set down to 100 ft. on the rigger.looked to be the biggest fish of the day but lost it 30 ft. behind the boat. 3rd fish came on a moonshine agent orange 100 ft down on the rigger.a 8 pound king. 4th fish came on the mandarin minnow set to 100 again.another 8 pound king. marked a ton of fish in the 150 to 180 fow range 35 to 85 ft. down but couldn't get them to go. chatted with just hook'n some on the radio they seamed to be doing things with there dipseys, our lead and dipseys didn't take a hit all night. It was pretty moist out there to begin with but it stopped raining after awhile the lake was pretty flat, so the ride was good but the fishing could be better.
