GTRIEM Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 hey all,I would love to take the family out this afternoon.Any one actually see the 1ft or less waves thats on the forecast? Not worth the drive and headache ,if they all get beat-up on the boat. Thanks GTR
GLF Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I have seen 1' or less forecast, head out to the lake and end up 3-5's. I have seen small craft advisories and it was 1' or less. I have also seen gale warnings and it was 1' or less. When in doubt, I rely on the intellicast wind forecast when I am in doubt. You can check the forecast in advance in 6 hour increments.
j1musser Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 You can also check the buoy data at wunderground.com Its gives relatively fresh data. Just rememeber its in the middle of the lake. Kinda have to take wind direction into account. Webcams help also. I fish SH but the Holland cam angle is helpful to judge wave height.
Fishwhisperer Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 You can also check the buoy data at wunderground.com Its gives relatively fresh data.A good rule of thumb: Take the wave height @ the buoy X 2.
