Alessandro Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I fished as long as I can remember, none in my family is interested at all (my younger brother a tiny bit).Nowadays I mainly dream about catching a big atlantic salmon (my brother caught a 44lbs last season) here in Sweden. Here´s a pic of me from a fishingtrip in africa chasing tarpon, http://www.fiskesnack.com/fotoalbum/showimage.php?iid=49883&cid=19&scid=0&sort=date

GLF Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Welcome aboard Alex!Nice looking fish. Do you eat that fish?
Alessandro Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 Yes, it´s called Jack Crevelle and takes topwater lure like crazy, can wiegh about 50 lbs, very tasty eating, remind you a bit of tuna. This is a 20lbs, since the camp we lived on (private rented island by a French guy in the Bijagos archipelago) was geared towards fishing, we had them a few times.
Alessandro Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 I forgot to add, if you looking for an english speaking saltwater fishing forum (mainly europe and africa)I recommend www.worldseafishing.com
Vitalidle Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Welcome to Great Lakes Fisherman! Did you catch that fish on a light rod and reel? Looks like alot of fun!
Alessandro Posted May 26, 2009 Author Posted May 26, 2009 6 feet Rozenmeijer rod and tuned 5500 Ambassadeur. Not far from the location the IGFA alltackle record for Tarpoon is caught.
