Steve Arend Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Well I finally have a chance to post up for the St. Joe Fishing League’s Lake Erie Outing. I don’t have the final results yet, they are still in the camper at the farm and I’ll swing by after work and get them.Well it was a great time on and off the water. The fishing was fantastic, with my crew hauling in our limits Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The after fishing gatherings were as entertaining as the fishing it’s self.As for the tourney on Saturday, we had some stiff winds Friday night and I did not think that the fish we found on Friday would still be in that area so we headed out to the wind blow shores in front of Stoney Point and work the shallow waters north to the power plant looking for feeding walleye. We found they right were we thought we would but they were in the 17” range and not what we were looking for. We turned the boat and head out for deeper waters and for a 20” in 24 fow and marked that point and never left that area to finish out the day. We were pulling Standard size spoons off the riggers, Hot-N-Tots off 3/0 dipsy set on 1/2 back 60’ and harnesses on 3/0 dipsy set on 3 back 90 to 100’. Pink & Purple was the hot spoon colors, Gold/Black and Perch Tots, Chartreuse and hammered brass harnesses.I’m not going to say who won the Tournament. I’ll have the results up as soon as I can.Once again, what an outing. These outing get better and better every year.
Live2fishdjs Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I'll keep this short and sweet...had a great time with great people, combine that with some great fishing and you end up with a GREAT weekend!!Walleye were plentiful for all and I think everyone had a good time!I can't believe I'm actually looking forward to next year and contemplating trying to make it over more than once:eek:
Spanky Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Hey Darrin, hows the neck..er I mean, head from the hat down!
huntingfool43 Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Another great time. Fished with Tom(TGAFish) and his freind Tim and we were offf the water by 11:30. We figured the fish would be a little deeper,we were wrong and ran back up by the point in 19 feet of water and proceeded to catch a 3 man limit. Great time as usual and thanks Tom for the ride.

Well every tournament has to have a last place and we were it:D Ran out to 24 FOW south of the point where we had done well before and so had a few others. After 2 hours of fishing and 3 fish to show for it we picked up and moved farther North. Ended up setting down unbeknownst right next to Catfishoge and hung out with him the rest of the morning. Fishing was comparatively slow for us all day with about 20 walleye landed. As we were going in we talked to Adjusted and he said he never left 21 feet. We slowed down in that area and saw the fishfinder loaded with fish!! We were 1/2 mile away from them most of the day!! UGH!Couldn't catch a fish on anything but spoons. We had 11 dozen crawlers on board and used 1 dozen:rolleyes: Last 2 fish of the day were our first on a harness and our first on a board LOL! Every thing else was spoons on dipseysSorry I split so soon guys. Honestly if I hadn't have left the beers would have started flowing and then I wouldn't be able to leave;)

Damn Buddweisers anyway:cool:

tgafish Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Well Steve you said I was last place the day of the tourney but I had 10 fish and 14.5 lbs so I think I beat Trailer on points if his totals are right. Maybe we weren't last:D
Spanky Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 There were NO last place finishers, and the only losers, were those who missed out on this great event
