Paulywood Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Sorry for the late report but I have been a little busy since leaving South Haven yesterday. Marty (ratchet) and I fished with Mike (red eagle) yesterday and had a great time. The weather was unbelievable and it was a great first trip of the year. The fish didn't really cooperate for us though. We ended up 3-5 with a brown and a coho and a released laker. Went 2-3 on a Carmel Apple Stinger 25' down on a rigger and 1-2 on a firetiger Rattle Trap run in the prop wash. Both coho. Thanks to all the guys who tried to help us, it just wasn't our day. The guy at the Porthole said he heard most of the coho had moved out to 120' of water so if you get out this week and can't find them, try deep. Good luck.
DIRTY DOG Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 i was wondering that becouse when we came in i watch the charter fleet come out of the piers and go staight west and not shut down, and it appeard they where set up for cohos or steelhead.
GLF Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I have been in your shoes before Nick. Boats all around catching fish and I could not buy a fish. Nice chatting with you on the radio.
