GLF Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 The charts link in the upper navbar are free to view.
Boltman Posted January 28, 2009 Author Posted January 28, 2009 I can't seem to find any of the free charts to view, without having to buy them...
Priority1 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Robert, Did you scroll down??? There seems to be good coverage of the GLs.
Boltman Posted January 28, 2009 Author Posted January 28, 2009 Ok My browser wasn't scrolling down far enogh onto the page, I got them now, thanks Guys I really appreciate your help.
Priority1 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I just spent a half hr taking a bunch of screen shots of the Saginaw Bay. This is where I want to be, with a boat under my Butt.
Boltman Posted January 29, 2009 Author Posted January 29, 2009 Actaully i was looking for a Topo of Grand Traverse Bay, I'm looking for where "Mr King Salmon" could be hinding,in the drop offs and cliffs or even valley in the Bay, they're there I know it... I'll find him or Her...Getting a lil excited here.
Priority1 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Zero in on certain areas and do some screen shots with your PCs Print Screen Key. You can then turn them into JPEG format and save. Here's an example of the lower part of the two bays. It's all right here. 14913 is it's #
joelsanders Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 My eagle fish finder has a lake maps chip in it and i can sit in my boat and zero in on things[just a lil bit cold out in the pole barn]love the gps fish finder!
Priority1 Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 The GPSs with the maps are nice. I'll break down and buy one if my old LMS-350 Lowrance ever dies. It's about 15 yo. I kind of like old things also. I got my boat with it on it, and I'm just curious to see how long it will last. I have the old style antenna module up on the hardtop, and it has never lost signal as long as I have had it. Charts are nice to plan with.
Boltman Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 Well I have a C-80 Chartplotter on board the boat, but it's a little cold out right now to sit on it and play, plus it's at a Fair grounds where I store it so it's about a 10 mile drive there. Yes they are so Nice to have onbloard the boat, I cannot zero in on the bottom though, but I am planning on getting a Fish Finder hooked up to it, so I can at least see if the Kings are down there, under the boat....Someday.........its' expensive.
2UNREEL Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 If you can pop in a lakemaster chip in your chartplotter its well worth it. The depth contours can clue you into where the big boys swim.
