Hookedup Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Any ideas on a transducer mounting plate for a fiberglass deep V. I will be switching electronics next year so I want to be able to remove and add transducers with out drilling all of the holes in my boat. If any one has set one up let me know how you like it. Thanks Sean
1mainiac Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 All my gear was installed at the dealership when I bought the boat and have not made any changes below the waterline. Howerver I helped a guy in TX set his up we epoxied a short piece of Oak 2x4 to the transom I think he put a couple screws into the transom for a backup and mounted the transducers on the 2x4.
Paulywood Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I know that they sell them in Cabela's. I have also seen people use pieces of Starboard. Just a few ideas, I've haven't used one before.
Priority1 Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Look at some plastic cutting boards. You will have to drill some mounting holes but after that you can move or change things easily. The cutting boards are tough and can be worked with standard wood working tools. These cutting boards make great backing plates also.
Hookedup Posted December 30, 2008 Author Posted December 30, 2008 Priority1, I was wondering about the cutting board. We will see how long it takes my wife to find the cuting board on the back of the boat. Sean
