News Posted October 22, 2008 Share Posted October 22, 2008 During a dig in the Port Dalhousie park last week, Jon Jouppien, a local history aficionado, heritage consultant and archeologist, uncovered the Lake Ontario entrance to the original Welland Canal - timber beams and supports and fragments of a lock wall from the 1829 canal.
