Priority1 Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I fished out of AuGres with a couple of neighbors. I was aboard the Brandy, owned by John B. Three of us took 9 walleye, some farm animals, and a few catfish. It wasn't hot and heavy like it was a month ago, but it was a nice day on the bay. B.B. and meat 26-28 FOW near Pt AuGres. Chartreuse, and Purple, seemed to do the trick. They liked it a lil faster today around the 1.7 to 1.9 MPH. Like the Big Bopper once said, "You know what I like". The usual K.I.S.S. method. I'm probably going to start trolling for walleye early, and fishing perch as the sun comes up. The weather this time of year can get rougher and keep you on shore a lot of the time.
Walleye Express Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 GJ Frank.Another bud of mine did good yesterday (15 walleyes all day effort) north (toward you) in the cleaner/clearer waters. But I'm cleaning the gear off my boat today and pulling her out Thursday or Friday. I can use the 18 footer for personal trips if need be, but it's getting to iffy for reliable/productive charters. Looking forward to a great river and ice season this year. Farmers Almanac says colder, with lots of snow again this year.
tltorrice Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Nice job Frank. Sure is good to be on the water.
