GLF Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 All I can say is NITRO! We had several doubles and a triple. Our tally for the morning was 14 for 20, and 4 knock offs. Jim and Mark went fishing with me. We started fishing at 5am and limited out at 7:30am. The boat was docked and tied up by 8am. I was 10 minutes late getting to the boat, but I still got there at 4am. By the time we got all of the gear mounted and heading out, it was 4:20am. On the way through the channel, I was swapping baits to a Stinger NITRO program for fishing in the dark. This ended up being our working ticket, and accounted for 13 of our 14 fish we boated, the 6 we lost, and another 4 knock offs we had. We shut down in 50FOW, and I quickly put the temp probe down to check temps. To my disapointment, the water 30' down was almost 60 degrees. I sent the probe down to 42' and it was still mid 50's. We put the boat on a West troll and I set our 9 rod spread. 3 riggers with sliders, 2 wire divers with flashers and flies, 2 half cores and 2 three colors. We hit 65FOW and the probe at 42' read 44.8 degrees. Ahhhh....we found the break, and turned SSW. Right after we hit the temp break, things started to happen. Things were happening so fast, I did not get all of my information. Our hot ticket by far was a NITRO Green Fireball. This spoon put 7 fish in our boat. We also lost a fish on this and had another knock off on it. All of the following NITRO spoons also went once or multiple times. AEAR 51, Snowsnake, Twister, Electric Blueberry, Blue Wonderbread, Napalm(caught several fish on this), and Blue Eclipse. Our action was mostly on the riggers, set at 55' and 42'. Our half cores went many times, and our the 3 colors went a couple of times. We caught one fish on a Protroll prochip8 Purple Bubble flasher with a Siggs Rigs, Purple Hypnotist trophy fly. About 6:45 were we sitting on 7 kings, a coho, and a lake trout. All of the sudden we had a triple. Cawabunga! We only managed to catch 2 of the 3 fish. One of the fish was a shaker, so we put it back and continued to fish. We picked up another shaker around 7:15am, and finally got our last king at 7:30am. While we were pulling lines, we picked up a bonus steelhead. Final tally, 11 kings(we released 2 shakers), 1 coho, 1 lake trout, and 1 steelhead. All of our fish came between 65FOW and 88FOW. Yesterday I made a post in my "looking for riders" thread. In that post, I said the first person to farm a fish had to pose with the "special" fighting belt. This is Mark with the "special" fighting belt. Thanks for coming along Jim and Mark!

GLF Posted August 3, 2008 Author Posted August 3, 2008 I had an error in my report, which I corrected. I typed purple taped flasher and purple bubble Siggs Rigs Trophy fly by mistake. It was a Purple Bubble flasher and a Siggs Rigs Purple Hypnotist trophy fly.
