They won the Ladies Tournament on Friday and led on Saturday and then of course on Sunday! Three great days of fishing and remained in first place after each day! Way to go Brian, Mom, Dad, and fellow crew members!!!!!!!!Also, an excellent performance from Team Stinger and an outstanding second day box and comeback from KC-1 as well! Great Job everyone!!!
LkEffect Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Thanks guys, we will never forget that weekend. We had the opportunity to fish in our home waters near pentwater which helped our confidence and ability to stay on the fish for three days in a row.The best depths of water for us were 85-100 ft early and then gradually moving out to 115-170 ft as the mornings went on. We caught our fish very deep for the most part as there was a lot of warm water around. Most fish came around or deeper than 100' down. Our diver bite was the best using 8" pro troll flashers. Blue bubble with blue bubble rapture fly and green glow with a hypnotist rapture fly were the best early. Later in the mornings or when the sun came out the mt dew prochip with the hitman no-see-um fly consistently took some big fish for us. The 11" white pearl hotchip with the oceana fly took our largest fish a 20.75lb king on a downrigger 120' down.Other setups that produced fish for us were Stingray NBK and yellow machine spoons on 300-400 ft of copper using a 4oz dive bomb on the 300 ft copper to get it in the zone. Silver horde Ace-hi plugs in various glow patterns also took fish on the copper setups. It was great to have a tournament weekend with nice weather for a change and the fish cooperated!
EdB Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Lake Effect,We were on the bubble Sunday morning on going to the Little Point. We made the wrong call going north. We couldn't get the trout going down there when we fished there Thursday even though our kings came fast. What did you get your trout on and did you get both steelies and lakers?Maybe we'll see you around the marina in Pentwater, I saw your boat slipped down from my buddies boat the Last Cast.
LkEffect Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 We did not get a steelhead the whole week at little point. I heard of a couple being caught but we got all lakers. The 8" custom pro troll with a white blade, lt green tape on one side and crush glow on the other with a green dude rapture fly was good for trout. The 11" white pearl pro troll with oceana fly and the 11" green glow pro troll with hypnotist fly also got some of our trout. We fished deep around the areas we marked bait fish and the lakers were there. Mostly with downriggers but a few came on deep wire divers.see you in pentwater
