I was wondering how long and what kind of fixed sliders people are running any info would be great thanks rob

I only run free sliders but I usually go from about hand to hand with my arms outstretched. I'm pretty short so it works for me.

I run 6' sliders. I use a piece of surgical tubing with a slit cut in it, a barrel swivel and a bead for making the fixed.

I usually run mine 6' in length and hold them in place by half hitching a rubber band.

Anyone ever try those free and fixed slider clips from Legendary Tackle in Frankfort? Ive had some for years, but theyve never made the water.:lol:....I always have the rubber bands out, so i just grab one and half hitch it on when i want a fixed.

Most tournaments specify a max length of 6ft which is what I made most of mine to meet.

Never heard that before, but Im on Lake O. I run a 10' cheater all the time on every rigger rod.

Not sure if I am doing something wrong??? I've tried Elberta Clippers, but it seems that they end up damaging my line over time. I've switched to the old rubber band technique the last few trips and it seems to work okay. I'm always hesitant to reel the rubber band through the guides, but so far I have had no problems with it costing me a smooth drag if the fish peels out line. Never seems to be enough time to remove the band in the middle of the action! But, I guess thats a good thing...
