Fished for 45 minutes this morning. 5-7 before the lake kicked us off. What worked crome/glow spinnie green glow fly 110 on braid diver took a laker White/glow spinnie blue fly 115 on braid diver took 2 rips a laker Full core bloody nose blue glow mag 3 rips 3 fish all kings. Rigger 59 down "my girlfriend spoon" White with pink dots took a hit on the rigger when we had our hands full with a double and I never saw it go. Wish we could have stayed out, but the the lady of the lake did not want to give up any more of her bounty.

Yeah I overshot the fish this morning, If I go out sat. going to start in close. -
Got a late start this morning because of working late last night. Got on the big pond at 6:30 2-2 for the day. The first fish came 10 minutes after setting up 120 back on a braid diver set at 1.5 MD spin doctor MD fly And then I was bored... Finally caught another fish when we went to change lures- must have been draggin' that laker around for a while on the full core, the board never moved. Great morning on the water, should have got out sooner.

We also did our best north, but I was foolish and stayed on a S troll because we picked up the 3 fish right away on that S troll. Live and learn. -
Boat ran well, Trying a buddies kicker 6 horse, just trying to get it dialed in before I buy it. The only problem I had with the boat tonight was getting the kicker dialed into 2.4 or so. it was either 2.0 or 2.7 so I stuck with 2.0 because we were picking up fish. I had the big motor looked at and the trim issue fixed. Pins cleaned and some other small stuff done. Aside from a 11 inch paddle getting all tangled up on itself it was a fairly relaxing night.

5 for 5 all in 90-93 FOW What worked DW super hot Michigan dolphin 2 fish 86, 83 down on riggers in 90 FOW Micheal Jackson 85 down on a rigger in 93 FOW White/pink dots DW 85 down on a rigger Blue Thunder mag spoon 85 down on rigger in 90 FOW What did not work Anything above 10 foot off the bottom Someone help me out here... Full core = 40-50 feet down or so 3 oz dive bomb should be about 30.... how on gods earth did I catch zebra muscles in 90 FOW The only thing I came up with was my speed of 2.0 was not enough to keep the dive bomb from dragging the spoon on the bottom. I put it 3 colors in, maybe I should go 6 or 7 next time?

My big problem with wire is that I will be having alot of people on the boat that are new to the big lake. So many things can go wrong with wire.
-
I picked up a couple extra rod holders and am thinking of adding some divers to the boat. Since I HATE wire divers, I was thinking of running one braid diver with a Dipsy and trying a diver from http://www.torpedodivers.com/ on the other side. Has anyone run the directional divers they make. I picked one up but have not had it out yet. Any feedback?

fun yes... He kinda found his way into the 3 color:( ... oh well.... Saved both boards and lures. Sad thing is she goes into the shop next week. I hope to have her back by this weekend:( -
Went out with a buddy tonight and landed the first big lake fish in the new boat!! 1-1 on a full core with a 3 oz dive bomb Watermelon size 4 J Plug. brought in the first steelie in 122 FOW south of the pier.

Nailer, We are going to try that thursday, my only concern is it will not get me into the 2 range on nasty days. The boat is going in next week to get it looked at. Hopefully it will be resolved by next weekend. I have had no problems with it shifting.

Talked to the boat shop this morning about the motor. He said that the year (90) and type of motor is not meant to run under 1000 RPMs. He said if anything put some cleaner in the gas tank and run the crap out of it a couple times. He said if its running fine in the 1200-1500 range everything should be pretty good inside the motor.

Fished Holland this morning with the new boat (Scooby Snacks). Hit the launch around 5:30 and off we went. Set up in 50 FOW and Marked fish for the first 2 hours or so with nothing going. After I started to eat breakfast the 5 color on the inside board starts to scream and a fish comes flying out of the water ...... Needless to say after a good fight and we get the fish to the side of the boat and the boat stalls... hooks pop out when my buddy face plants the fish with the net. .... OH WELL!! Trolled around for a couple more hours .... Had some speed control issues mostly...(see rigging forum if you can help) Only hit came on a mag bloody nose glow spoon on a five color

So ... here is my post from MS ... The Biggest problem we had was getting the boat to troll down nice it would start stalling out under 1000 RPMS... we did not have a GPS on board, but I think we were on the top end of 2-4 MPH, but not sure.. when we would run it at 1200 RPMs it just seemed like we were going WAY to fast. I was wondering what I should do... Trolling bags and run it at 1200 RPS because it was doing fine then?

So the boat rigging continues... Picked up 2 eagle claw rods with some Penn reels today 40 dollars for 2 set ups;) Not the best, but it will get the job done. Put the 2 Cannon riggers on the boat as well (came with boat) and even put them rigger rods in the holders...
-
I know right... Slap about 6 rods/rod holders on that bad boy and away I go:) Catching fish is just a bonus for now.... Getting off the pier is good enough for now.
-
Needs some work and some gear, but as I said it gets me off the pier..
-
So in knowing I am leaving to pick the boat up in less than an hour.....I am exited and I am not going to lie. Is there a Coast guard check list floating around?? Should I just stop or call the coasties to find out what they check when and if I was ever to get stopped. Plan number one is to get everything "Legal" when I get home. A good old stop at the SOS office and then to the insurance fella is planned, But I was just looking for a list of stuff that is needed on the boat Life jackets Flares Horn ECT.
