  1. I had a great year, I was just trying to put some people on fish and that did not go so well.
  2. Same water... I was having some issues controling my speed..... But who knows... I had 2 newbies on the boat.. who both did not throw up...
  3. After a long morning of nothing going.. I think I am done..... 1-2 this morning and my 3rd trip catching less then 3 fish. My fall program is broke, or something..... None the less a great morning on the water with 2 Big lake newbies. 1-2 both on Lemon berry on the 200 copper Everything else... was dead.... Some others were doing well, but I just could't get them started. Oh well, There is always next year:) Dave
  4. Deepending on days and weather, I may come down from Holland to fish
  5. 1-2 this morning in close.. going VERY slow...
  6. Kraker.... You ask about changing lures..... .that is something I talked with your brother about... You can ask ANYONE that fishes on my boat... I run the same 2 lures on my deep rods almost 100% of the time after it gets light out. They never get changed.... Does it hurt me... sometimes.. maybe... other times I look like a pro. I know day in and day out that Patriot BLL or Monica FS spoon will get me fish down deep. (Same pattern with 2 differnt names) I almost always run a Mod blue veggie on the 250 and a mixed veggie stingray(the small one) on the 5 color for steelhead. As for the other rods... The tend to get a bit more of a change... but if you find something that works.. STICK WITH IT... BEAT IT TO DEATH.... untill it stops catching fish. I fished 1 waypoint for 4 weeks straight and caught fish on it EVERY trip on the same spread.... As I said in the begining.. I would rather fish without riggers and fish 6 copper/lead. Riggers are hit or miss for me and I caught a majority of my fish on the long lines. In saying that they do have their days. If you were to make 1 change that will help you catch more fish it would be add a couple of long lines on boards... 300 and a 200 would cover most of them with a hand full of dive bombs.
  7. Ran out to 200 FOW yesterday and went 2 for 2. Sounded like some guys were doing well, Fish came on SS blue dolphin and MTD/UV SD with cry baby fly
  8. My copper out fished my riggers 5-1 for most of the season.
  9. Run Copper... with floro leaders.... 3 to a side when fishing deep.. you will catch more fish then running riggers....
  10. 1 old guy took a verbal lashin from my father in law for his attack on me!! LOL!! Nope I am a firm beliver in channel is for boats lake side is for the pier. Don't cut the end of the pier and you wont have any issues.
  11. I run 2 boards and 2 riggers... without issue. I run the board rods in the diver holders and set them 5 feet off the tip of the rod. The rods are closer to the boat than if I ran a diver. I got hit with a spoon yesterday morning. That was interesting. Even better it was from the opposite side of the channel. Needless to say my pier friends took care of that problem for me:)
  12. Fish the Mud
  13. board getting burried with fish in waves.. not good!! Wish I had the week off work to fish.. oh well.

What worked BLL Wonderbread UV Chrome/Red head J plug (HOT) Green Ladderback J plug Fire tiger Hot n tot Fire tiger j 13 BTW if anyone finds a big king with my j-13 blue and silver in its mount I have a reward out on that thing!!!
  15. We got the snot beat out of us twice yesterday:)
  16. Or just go to Saugatuck.. Aaron has more then you will ever need:)
  17. I am from Michigan and spend MANY of nights fishing the piers. What I do know is it is a TIMEING GAME here.... Watch the weather... Big wind, rain, cold, ect will trigger the fish to come in. Fish at night... with glow spoons or J-13 rapalas till about 8 or 9 am then go home. Gear.... I have seen people use Bait casters, but they get broke off alot. Go with a GOOD spinning reel with 20 pound PP and a 12-15#Floro leader. Rods are important too. I use an 8'6 Gander mountian steelhead rod. The longer rod will help you cast farther. terminal tackle- USE GOOD SNAP SWIVELS. a net with a long handle to get your fish up on the pier is a must The next part is on you.. and that is do be dedicated enough to get up at 2 am to head to your local pier and get a spot. I am unsure of how busy the piers are in WI, but if you do not get up early here, you wont get a spot. The end and the Lake side end are generally the best. If you need any more help please feel free to contact me or post more questions.
  18. j-13 rapalas on every rod

  23. It has been a pleasure fishing with you this summer Ben. Next June we are going to put the hurt on the lakers lol
  24. We ran into an issue with the leader being to long from the snubber to the flasher. We had a 9 foot leader, a SD and then a 48 teaser rig. We ran out net handle, broke the handle and resorted to cutting the 9 foot to 5 foot:)
  25. 2 small flies and then a standard fly behind. Just like a meat rig. as I stated I have been using the Big lake lures ones with the best sucsess.
