  1. So, I tried to run out deep and didnt feel like going past 150 with the east wind. I was unsure how the run home was going to be) So I turned the boat back twards shore and went with what I knew. Trolled from Holland to Saugy on the bars without a hit. Trolled back from Saugy to Holland and picked up a brown a king and a nice laker. 3 for 4 or 5, What worked: BLL Moldy green dolphin (Green dolphin with white nose) 3 hits Big Al's fish flash with a DW Lemon ice SS 1 hit BLL Funky Chicken 1 hit SS screwball, may have taken a hit the board went under, and the rod learched back, but no sale. Could have caught more if I went out to the boonies, but just was not feeling it. There are plenty of fish in close, you just have to work for them. They seem to be schooled up and you will hit 2 or 3 and then go for a while and then hit 2-3 more. As for the tbIG Al's flashers, They are enjoyable to run, fighting a laker on them, you are truley fighting the laker not the spinnie or the tin can. Going to try and run 2 fo them in the morning. Dave
  2. I am going to stay in close friday and shoot for that big brown I want for my wall. Chances are slim, but what the heck. Saturday, it is whatever capt. Ben Lubbs wants to do, I am just net boy!
  3. I could hear Jimmy, but not you. I will have to mess with it next time I am out.
  4. I think I am having some radio issues, Could you hear me out deep Jimmy?
  5. Fished Holland this morning with Ben Lubbs. Ended up 3-8 1 brown 2 kings This morning was full of heartbreak and bad luck. Started the morning, in the dark and setting rods we had our first fish on. Board burried and the fish popped off. Not a bad way to start the morning as a fish on is better than a fish off. Get the rest of the rods set and go to sit down and the 2 color jumps back and we land a 12" inch king. (released) Re set the rod and it fires again. Same size fish also released. From here on out it was time for the bad luck to kick in. A double and 2 lost fish Outside board took off and went under and the fish managed pry the hooks loose. Manged to get one fish in the boat!! (See below) Best lure of the day!! BLL Prototype 4 hits X rap Blue green olive took 2 hits Alphonse 2 hits Water temp 47-51 Best speed 2.2 Best troll S
  6. I plan on fishing in the morning if I can use Ben Lubbs truck. Brakes went out on mine. Yes the water temp was in the 61' on shore. I think we are going to head out to 60 and troll SW till we are sick of it as long as the wind does not pick up.
  7. What does everyone have going on? We are planning to fish Holland, the question is what FOW. The surface temp is 61, and I heard rumors of some colder water in 25 fow on the bottom. Trying to decide if its worth fishing in close or to start heading out.
  8. Well, Figued I would give it a go this morning and skip chruch. In the end, I should have went to church. 1-3 1 king What worked BLL Funky Chicken (2 hits 1 fish) X rap 10 olive color (1 hit broke off) Ran North of Holland out in front of Kirk park, and trolled south past the piers to Half way. Only having 2 hits, figued we could go exploring as we saw a boat out deeper yesterday. They took off out of port again, but the fog kept them pretty hidden. We ran out to 90 and trolled back to the pier heads. Loosing a laker on the rigger as we ran through the dirty water break at 40 fow. Tried all sorts of trolls and all sorts of colors/lures. Water temps Inside 46-48 Dirty/Clear break 43 (Marked some fish around there) 90 fow 36 degrees All the bigger boat guys if you try to fish close to the sandbars north of Holland, Just north of Tunnel park the sandbars go from 10 up to 2-3 feet in the matter of 10 yards. Be carfull. Dave
  9. Glad the first trip went well.

Ended 5 for 6 3 kings 1 steel 1 brown stuff that worked BLL Funky Chicken (2) Stinger Mixed veggie UV (1) Xrap green silver (1 fish lost 1) Brown trout J-9 Rapala (1) The early morning program was a big fat nothing. First fish came with the sun over the sliders. Fished from 5-25 foot of water from Holland to Saugy and back to the sliders. Fished with the new Auto Pilot, and it worked great. Ben Lost a nice fish on the outside board back 125 feet and 300 out to the side. Great day on the lake, Rigger bite with the balls tapping bottom was the best. Water temps 42-53 in front of saugy.

  13. I love this color... Always seems to catch fish no matter the water color. I normally run it in the Mud, but I have ben running it more and more on the blue water and catching fish. The question is why?? Does not look like a goober (Gobie) Does not look like fish Just wondering if anyone has any opinions on this

Fished 10-15 FOW and the lake was flat Turned and trolled North and went 3-4 in the next 45 min. What worked J9 brown trout J11 Blue silver What would have worked if fish had not come loose J11 firetiger We had to run them tight to the boards and fast 2.8-3.0 to get hits All browns Dave
