I have not been doing much fishing this summer as I have been working alot. The weather has not helped that much either as the days I have had off, the weather kicks up. Aside from that however I did make it out yesterday morning for a AM trip with a couple friends. 6-7 All fish came in the dark and then the fishing shut right down for us in our water. We fished 60-70 FOW when we were catching fish and did a little exploring after 7 am. We trolled out to 130 and back to 60 without ever taking another hit. Pier fishing is a funny thing. The kings did not show up at the pier, because there is plenty of bait off shore. When "All" the bait comes in the kings follow. (June and July) They are in there feeding at night and head back off shore till they feed again. Dave

So after 3 weeks of slow fishing, the fishing around Holland picked up for the Scooby Snacks crew on Saturday night. Left Holland port at 6 pm and returned at 10:15 Ended up 7-9 5 silver 2 green Trolled 170 back to 60 on a SE troll SOG 2.5 was best What worked 200 Blood Run Copper 32# BLL Mod Blue Dolphin 250 Blood Run Copper 32# BLL MI Rat 300 Blood Run Copper45# Mag Silver Streak Green tiger (Green Goblin I thought) Braid Deeper Diver on 2 Green 150 back Vailume Pro troll with fish scale back green white fly Rigger down 60 BLL Superman Alot of small kings, but fish are fish... Wow.. what a difference a week makes. Ended up 3-5 with 2 kings and a steel. Tried fishing in that 85 fow with no hits for 2 hours so packed up and ran to 300 and trolled NE at 3.2 MPH. All fish came in the top 30 feet on stinger spoons white on white or craigs x mas. Nice Job to FBD for pulling the rabbit out of his... yeah... Thank again Larry for throwing some spoons to each of the guys....
