Why are they so dang expensive? This does not make sence to me at any level. The talk is always that we want to grow the sport and get more teams involved, but the entry price to fish the AM side is gross.(In most cases) Holland 2013 Professional $450 1B Professional + Big Fish $470 2A Amateur $250 2B Amateur + Big Fish $270 W Women's Tournament $50 I assume this does not include 333? Saugatuck 2013 Pro Division: The basic entry fee is $450. If paid by Aug 1st $500 after. Amateur Division: The basic entry fee is $225. If paid by Aug 1st $275 after. The Big One Big Fish: additional fee of $50. Open to all boats participating in the tournament. 2nd Chance: additional entry fee of $100 for Pro Division or $50 for Amateur Division I again assume this does not include 333. GH offshore Friday, May 31st - Ladies & Kids Tourney, $150 Pro Division Am Division Saturday, June 1st & Sunday June 2nd PRO Division, $450 if paid by May 17, After $525 AM Division, $200 if paid by May 17, After $275 The question is... why??? It almost seems like its a rich boys club who wants to play together because they are afraid they could loose to a weekend warrior. The way they weed the weekend warriors out is by jacking the price up so high that it's to expensive to play. Would it not make sence to lower the price draw in more boats?? Can you enter just the 333 in these events?

I purchased a 21 foot pro line last year and have found to have no issues with it. In saying that I also troll on a 9.9 kicker.

JD... I used a plug for the back one. It is located at the back next to the drain plug. The front live well. You can put a drain plug in that one in the live well it keeps it dry. Dave

Rascal Trophy Fishing how were you rigging those squids. I bought a pack last year and ran them a few times without a hit.

That boat caught a ton of fish and never let me down.......

Do you think the reason for people running less of them, is really that the quality is less. Or is it just a marketing thing and these items do not get marketed to big water trollers.
-
Don, I was thinking of setting one of those up on a short core. did you only run it when you knew coho were around, or did you just plug and play with it... and let it ride for the day.
-
Does anyone have a practical use for them? In the spring when I fish coho, I always run body baits. Every once and a while the coho will show up offshore in the summer, and I generally will throw jointed raps and small stingers or mimi streaks out for them because the coho dodger thing is a complete mystery to me. (Never have caught a fish on them) I was thinking of setting up a 2 color with a small SD and fly or small spoon on it for the fish near the surface.. any feedback?

I was sitting here thinking about some of the stuff I have done to catch fish while trolling off shore. Which led me to this questions: Why did we every stop running: Jointed rap alas J 13 size Hot N tots Mag warts I have run all over the past few years and they still catch plenty of fish. A mag hot n tot on the low rigger back 75 is the same as a SWR. A J-13 on a deep copper can be lights out mid day. Just wondering what everyone else things is the reason for trends like this to not happen as much as before.

advice on lead core to planer board
Killin' It replied to Richland angler's topic in Great Lakes Fishing Discussion
Welcome to the site... What area are you in? Running core/Copper is as easy or as difficult as you want to make it. Jwheeler is correct. Doing this will weaken the leadcore/copper. If you are worried about having to many rods or needing to many rods, you can always use shorter core with dive bombs. Dave -
Here is what I run by season..... I love pulling spoons! Early Spring (Lakers) Spring (May) Mid summer! Late summer Meat Plugs FF combos The late summer changes from year to year!!!
