  1. Nice job. Looks like you and Mark had a great day on the river once again with somemore quality fish. Nice to see those fish. See any amount of ducks down that way Dan?
  2. Well, not the opener i envisioned, but nothing outta the ordinary either for opener when hunting state land. People everywhere calling like mad and skybusting. Got 3 hooded mergs and a wigeon in the morning. Switched it up in the PM and put down 7 birds. 3 mallards, 3 woodies and a black duck. Dad and i are going to try a spot this evening thats traditionally good for wood ducks. Didnt get to scout it lately, so im not sure if theres any in there or not. Gonna wing it and hope for the best. Its supposed to be a ducky afternoon, so anything can happen.
  3. Thanks for all the great reports this season. You had a great run Captain.
  4. Nice lookin rig Kenny!!!!

  6. Thats a big en Ken....I was out scouting ducks the other day and spotted 8 of em on the trail about the size of silver dollar. Must be on the move looking of their wintering grounds with this cold weather.
  7. Good luck in the morning boys. Zone three opener is finally here. Get em cupped and locked and give em a face fulla steel....Its time to smack a duck!!!! BOYAAH!!!!!
  8. Velcro works real well for securing the net bag. Get some with adhesive and put a strip on the bottom of the net bag through the netting and stick it to itself. Then put another strip on the net handle in the appropriate location. I then wrap each end of the velcro on the net handle with a few wraps of black tape for added security. Works fantastic. Much quicker than a release.
  9. Been wanting to try those, just havent made the jump yet. They look like one of the best mechanicals on the market. I really like their design. Lots of great reviews as well.
  10. I net all my fish head first. Guess youd be nervous if i was on board. Works for me.
  11. Nice job Jason. I like shooting those little clips on our trips as well. Recaptures that excitment.
  12. I think the key to being a good net man is just having patients and not panicing at the moment of truth. I think more fish are lost at the net because guys attempt to get the fish to early, and if they miss start trying to scoop the fish with quick shallow jabs to recover from their failed attempt. Unfortunately most times the hook is in the net after the first couple tries and it usually rips it outta the fish. Just be patient and net the fish when the time is right. Having control of the net and not over reaching is a big key to this IMO.
  13. Congrats on the new boats you guys. Im excited to see the new rides!
  14. Looks like you and Mark had a great day on the water catching some quality fish. Nice job out there!
  15. Nice chunky looking fish...Great job!
  16. Well, i fish off a Hydra-Sports with outboard power, so i gotta recommend that. It has TONS of deck space and a wide transom. Theres lots of room along the gunnels to mount rod holders, riggers etc. I love our boat, its a fishin machine. Ours is only a 21', but they make 23', 25' and bigger.
  17. Nice pic Robert, looks like a beautiful day out there too!
  18. I agree, a good net man is hard to beat!!!! As far as the double net job, oh boy have i been there before too. I think allot of people think your nuts when you tell them your gonna net another fish in the same net. I think they believe the other one will get away. But, as your picture illustrates it can be done if you do it correctly. Just have to pick your shot take it and be sure to "drive the net" in an essance to keep the first one in the bottom while getting the second fish. Doubles on salmon are even more fun.....Better get that slider fish first though!
  19. Nicely done...Thats what fall fishing is all about!!!
  20. Yeah, but the fish is still there. If that was my brother youd have a pic of the net with spoon snaffooed in it!!!
  21. A beautiful day for fishing off the peir!!!...I love those pics of natures furry, theyre awesome.
  22. LOL...Great pics of the boys Mike. Probably sprung outta there like a python when the drag on the dipsey went and yelled FISH ON!!! FISH ON!!!
