  1. The guys at Franks Great Outdoors sell the H2O and can set you up with a chip. Give em a call, 989 697-5341. Push ,3 i believe for electronics, and ask for Ernie or Brian. Theyre real good guys who will steer you in the right direction. Ask about other options as well. There strait shooters. Also think about a mount for the GPS you get as well as the 12v power cord. Cause they eat up batteries quick when its cold out. Best of luck with your purchase.
  2. When it comes to rod holders im of the philosophy that you should spend some money on them once and have them for a lifetime. Go with a quality manufacturor like trax tech etc.
  3. I bet theyd work awesome on one of those umbrella rigs like they use for striper. Have always thought about getting one for salmon fishing.
  4. Nice job, that 2.5 Ohio buck is a stud right now, imagine one more year on that thing...WOW!!!!....Congrats on a couple of great deer and a memorable hunt with your son.
  5. Nice mixed bag. Cant beat that. Tell Mark i said hey.
  6. Im a Vexilar man. Mine has always been good to me. Plus, ive never used Marcum, so its hard to recommend them. I know this, whatever way you go your catch will be increased significantly!
  7. We keep it to 6 rods and troll with inline planer boards. We have reflector tape on our boards and the L.E.D. head lamps are enough to keep them illuminated. I also like to keep the drags just loose enough so that if a fish hits it can slip. Used to run amber colored lenses on the big boat too. That way you had light, but it wasnt super bright light. Caught allot of fish that way too...We had some secondary Halogen lights for when we need to see. Nothing better than seeing those glowing eyes coming into the net!
  8. Definitely Frank and an alltogether different action as well. The swish and wash of a dodger vs the rotation of a flasher. Definitely gonna try it.
  9. I believe you can send that back to rapala and theyll replace the baitfor you.....As far as it being useless, i see that Spanish Fly joker on ESPN break the bills off on purpose...Just gotta head south and fish a different species Ken!!!
  10. Thanks Mike, i figured that would be the case. I guess as long as the tangle isnt significant the positives can outweigh the negatives. Have always run my flashers alone and never put any sort of slider on them for that very reason. Looks like i may have to experiment a bit more. Now, as with CoachJer, do you find this to be a pretty hot set up?
  11. Great post. I dont have teak to refinish, but if i ever do ill know how. Thanks.
  12. Welcome aboard Jerry. Thanks for the tip. Get many tangles running that spoon up above that dodger?
  13. Not a problem Ken. If you want i can take a pic of the page and put up on here and you can print it off if youd like...Let me know.
  14. I like getting banded birds. Its always cool to see where they come from. All my banded birds are from the state of Michigan. Most are banded the same year i kill em. Just once i would like to get one with some history behind it and like a 5 state gap or banded in another country. My bands have come from Linwood, Pinconning, Bently, Winn, and Lansing. Dad got a duck from Pennsylvania and another from Ontario. Its amazing the distances they travel. Some Snow Geese get banded up by the artic circle and get shot in Mexico...Talk about a migration! The record banded duck was a blue bill that was banded 20 years before it got killed. Just got killed by a Michigander a couple years back...Talk about amazing! Imagine all the spreads that bird has saw and how lucky it had been to survive natural predators, disease and hunters for so long.
  15. Well, i got my band info in the mail this morning. Band # 1008-61787 Species: Large Canada Age of Bird: Too young to fly when banded Location Winn, MI Banded: 6/23/09 Sex: Female Bander: Mr. Donald Ayres Encountered: 11/12/09 Near Linwood, MI

  18. I watched that the other day. They were smacking the walleye pretty good.
  19. I agree, dont go with Lowrance. Ive had allot of problems with units myself and turn around time on a unit is atrotious. Sent one in in April and got it back in August!!!! Raymarine makes some nice stuff thats for sure.
