  1. Good luck Jay. My buddy Matt fishes outta a yak all the time. He loves it.
  2. Best wishes to you. Sounds like youve been through allot!!!
  3. Talk about a buzz kill!!!!
  4. Great pics, looks like a fantastic trip!!! Thanks for sharing your adventure.
  5. I run mine around 8' most of the time. A bit of a pain to manage with an angry fish, but the divers are the most productive set up on our boat. I used to run them shorter, but the longer i made my leaders the more productive they were. I go heavy on my fluoro leader material....40-50# Dont matter if im running a plug, spoon or flashery/fly longer has proven better on our boat.
  6. Why not have that hole welded? Then you can grind it and then sand it with fine grit to get it perfectly smooth. Your going to paint it anyhow. Other than that, looks like your well on your way to having a real nice jon boat. Good luck with the project Nick.
  7. Was great to be out on the big water trolling again. I cant wait to be out in the Hydra-Sport though...The four stroke is so much quieter and a heck of allot more comfy!!!
  8. Fished off the mouth of the Kawkawlin today. Dirty water and not much going on. I fished outta my 12' flatbottom duck boat, so i only made it out to around 7' of water. Didnt wanna go out any farther incase the wind kicked up. Not much freeboard on the Lowe. Anyhow, I lost one out there trolling HJ10 in Clown. After several passes with nothing i went in towards the mouth and anchored and pitched jigs and rapalas. Moved around a bit and it was pretty uneventful. Had a carp on that i had snagged and that was it. Wish the water was a smidge cleaner. There were about 8 other boats up tight on the mouth, i never seen anyone bend a rod...Was better than sitting at the house.
  9. I guess it depends on what the boats condition is etc etc
  10. I see...I missed those ones. Ill have to look around and find them. Thanks Nick.
  11. Thanks for signing up Joel. Looking forward to shooting the chit with ya. Its a great place.
  12. I use the 7'6" one piece Ugly sticks for walleye fishing. I believe theyre ML action. Theyre a time tested rod thats stood up to allot of abuse over the years. And theyre relatively cheap to buy. Tough to go wrong with them board fishing for walleye IMO. For riggers and lead core i run the 8'6" Shakespeare Wolverine Charter Choice rods. For my dipseys i run the 8'6" Daiwa Heartland roller rods for my wire and the standard 9'6" Heartland dipsey rods for the braid divers.
  13. Squids definitely work, it just seems that mylar flies are the rage right now, but will both take fish. Some guys are using both to create hybrid flies that have a bit more bulk and using the squid to add more glow when fishing deep.
  14. In that video? I musta missed it i guess.
  15. That was a great seminar as well. One thing i was suprised about is that noone asked and none of the staff touched on fly leader length on those paddles fished deep. I like running mine longer, like 36-50", seem to be much more effective. What do you guys think?
  16. Thats called payin your dues i think...Thats fishin, youll get em next time.
  17. Welcome aboard Jim. Where do you walleye fish? I do allot of walleye fishing as well. I fish mostly outta Linwood, but do go out from Augres from time to time as well. Great fishery on Saginaw Bay.
  18. Great job...Seems there showing up at all the ports...Rock on!!!
  19. Probably soon to get it cleaned up and ready to go. Then turkey season will be here and we'll be after those pretty steady. Then off to chase walleye until end of June. Ill probably make a trip here and there your way, but itll be with my buddy Jay.(Salmon Slut)

  20. I agree....Is that laker in your avatar from "The Rock"? Awesome fish, i gotta make it up there sometime.
  21. Sure, break the guys bubble right when he had himself talked into new equipment!!!!...Actually, great tip, that little tweak should do it.
