  1. I knew it wasnt Coggins Rd...lol...Thanks for clearing that up. The road their on always escapses me.
  2. SE Lake Huron on the Canadian side. Down towards Lake St. Clair Ken.
  3. Thats a great point Scott, they do have staff on hand helping with launching, shuttling from vehicle to boat and vise a versa. That marina has really turned around since it changed hands 4 years ago now.
  4. No problems launching at 6 am. Its $10 a day to launch at Linwood Beach Marina or $150 for the season. The St. Dock in Augres is $6 a day i believe, not sure on the seasonal. Fantastic launch with several docks and lots of parking. Great fishing outta Augres. The Eagle Bay Marina(fromerly Great Lakes Marina) in Standish is your other option. I have not been there since the tribe has taken it over, so im not sure on launch fees, when you can get in etc. From what i understand there were many improvements to the marina and its quite nice. I personally get the seasonal pass at LBM. Great staff there and a nice launch. Is real busy on the weekends so getting their early is always a plus. They also have a cleaning station. Id think its a happy medium for you and your father. Good luck to you.
  5. Welcome to the site Dave. I wish i could help you out down there, but havent fished that portion of Lake Huron before. Im sure someone can help you out though.
  6. You should be able to take plenty of fish pulling inline weights and harnesses or bottom bouncers with harnesses. Body baits like deep diving HJ10-14's should still be taking plenty of fish.
  7. Nice way to stare adversity in the face and overcome. Thats some of the finest eating on the great lakes right there...YUM!
  8. Id take that considering it was supposed to be a dreary day from noon on. Glad you got into a few.
  9. Gambles landing is another option, but again thats going to be a smaller boat affair as well. Not sure if theyll accomadate a 19'er or not. Havent been there in years either. Its located right on Nayanquing Point. I wanna say Coggins Rd., but i think i got the wrong road. Its in that vacinity though.
  10. I just make sure theyre clean and dry and put the tape on. A warm spoon doesnt hurt either. Set it in the sun or heat with a hair dryer. I normally use an exacto knife to peel and position the tape on the spoon/lure. That way no oils from my fingers are transfered. Makes for a very good bond. Once positioned i firmly rub the tape to make sure its sealed down. In the process this will also create some heat which will help it bond. I use the WTP tapes available at most tackle shops. Holds up well for me. But in the end they'll get knarled up. Kings are tough customers and have some wicked teeth in there so its to be expected.
  11. Nice job Jason. Glad you had fun on the river carrying on a tradition. Dont get any better than that.
  12. Welcome aboard Senez and great looking boat you have there.
  13. It will do it, but im sure youll be working it hard. I think a 9.9 would serve you better. Nice to have a little more power if your in rougher conditions or your main ever lets you down.
  14. Welcome aboard Greg and thank you for your support.
  15. Wouldnt a boat in that year class have shear pins and not a hub? Somethings definitely not right. Make any calls to the people who did the replacement?
  16. Welcome aboard Eric and thanks for the great report.
  17. Nicely done...Seeing plenty of pig lakers on the board lately.
  18. Welcome aboard Simon. Looks like you got your answers already! Also, thanks for the great post and if i havent already done so, welcome to GLF Tony.
  19. Havent been outta there in years but its was always shallow and a VERY LONG winding channel. Used to go east, then a turn to the south, then a turn east again to get to deep water. Wasnt marked all that great either. But like i said, its been many years since ive been outta there. We took a 14' Starcraft outta there at the time.
  20. Good shakedown....the fish will come around along with this weather!
