  1. I hear ya Frank. Ive been really busy with work and am outta town 5 days a week. Seems the weekends produce one decent day and i spend half of that pinpointing the fish before finally getting into them. Then, its back to the grind down state.
  2. Sounds like a hell of a good time. Great mixed bag too!
  3. Great job Tom. A friend of mine was around the sister islands as well and did good yesterday. Even caught a muskie
  4. Now thats a report. Well done Capt. Ron. Keep the good stuff coming.
  5. Thanks for the report Matt. Nice job out there. Those conditions are never fun to fish in. I dont blame you a bit for heading in.
  6. Nice work Ken...Who's your hair dresser?...lol
  7. Great report and some nice fish...Congrats
  8. Do you guys ever get small fish?...lol...Nice job fellas.
  9. Looks like a fine night Mark. Lots of smiles and nice fish!
  10. Fished with Mom and Dad this morning. Fished up towards 1 and 2 in 26' of water. We worked for em and ended up with 13. Didnt mark allot of fish again. Fish were deep today, took everything right on bottom for the most part. 3 oz. BB right on bottom, 1 oz. inlines 50-55' back. Speed 1.2. Purple beads w/#4 colorado blades in DB Purple Rain w/gold back and #5 deep cup colorados in Purple silver bait rigs blades. Also, Pink beads with #4 colorad in pink panties w/copper back. Then my cousin and his family from Georgia arrived this afternoon and i spent the remainder of the day with them catching up. Looking forward to hanging out with them until they head back home.
  11. Great report Ed. Keep after em. Wont be long till Silver fish in Ludville now!
  12. Thanks Jay.
  13. Make sure the tots are tuned correctly or theyll spin out. You can pull them anywhere from 1.8 on up to 3 if tuned correctly. They have a wide irratic gate as you get em crankin'. I prefer 2.2-2.5 when im pullin em...or at least the fish seem to...lol
  14. Im hoping to make it, but not sure just yet.
  15. Not yet. Almost pulled the trigger on some the other night but ended up buying more DW Paddles...lol
  16. Anytime i fish i like to run a spread of rotators and flies along with spoons and/or plugs to see what the fish want. Normally start with some glow spoons on the riggers along with free sliders and on my four dipsey rods ill usually run a couple rotators and a couple spoons/plugs. Ill also deploy lead core with spoons and/or plugs. And as a pattern developes or doesnt i change things up as needed. If i dont box out in the early AM ill normally head deeper and start switching to longer lead core and copper rigs as the suns coming up and begin to lengthen my dipseys with spinnies and flies or mag spoons. And ill start dropping my riggers deeper as well. Probably throw on a big paddle and fly down deep or a mag moonshine down deep. This is a great way to pick up somemore kings. Or, you can crank the speed up and look for some temp breaks and fish up high for steelhead targeting the top 60' or so. Go with brightly colored spoons-oranges, pinks, chartruesces. Use longer leads on the riggers to target the bottom end of the spread, open the dipseys up to fish higher and farther from the boat in the water column and deploy LOTS of leadcore on boards. If you find a break youll likely have rods poppin'. Good luck and have fun.
  17. Thanks for the report Larry.
  18. Ugh...thats a rough day on the equipment Jimmy! Wouldnt want to repeat that too often! Nice job on the fish, i figured it had to be bumpy over there today.
  19. Nice way to adjust your presentations with what the conditions allowed. Congrats on the nice box of fish as well as your finishes...Very nice.
  20. Nice work out there, im sure it had to be a blast. Mini disks are a great tool. You can deploy a multitude of baits behind them. Most popularly used to deploy smaller walleye sized spoons. A 10# leader of 4-6' is plenty for a spoon app for walleye. If your gonna run harnesses behind them id opt for a longer harness to eliminate the leader, of 15# line plus as it takes some abuse from teeth/gill plates on the business end. In saying that, if i could make a recommendation, id say that if your going to fish harnesses that you should learn to tie them yourself. Its easy and cheap to do and the end product will be much better quality and built to fit your needs...eliminates leaders, better hooks, hook styles, endless color combos, quick change clevises to change out blades etc. Most harnesses are tied on 15-20# line ranging from mono to more expensive fluorocarobon. For big water fishing such as your doing i opt for a two rig harness. I run a #2 octopus hook on the front and a #6 round bend or EWG treble hook on the rear. I prefer Gamakatsu or Mustad Ultra Point hooks for my harnesses. I tie the treble hook on with a palomar and snell the front hook. I run my harnesses 3'-4'. For most harness applications its more practical to deploy them with inline weights or bottom bouncers. Both are inexpensive and achieve depth quickly. For a 1 oz. inline weight at 1 mph you can figure pretty close to a 2:1 ratio on line out to depth achieved. This will work well out to around 45-50' range according to my bait data pressure depth probe. Its my belief that line drag begins to overcome the inline weight and hinders its depth gain. Simply opt for a bigger weight if your fishing over say 30' of water. As far as lurking, i would not do that. The internet is an awesome tool to severely shorten the learning curve. Thus the foundation these very forums were created on. There are no dumb questions, just the one thats not asked. Trolling is allot more than just letting a lure out and hoping a fish bites it. Its a real art and with some knowledge a very effiscient and effective way to find and catch fish. Be safe and have fun on the water.
