  1. Thanks guys, had a great time. Lake was definitely bumpy. Terry and the boys put a whoopin on em yesterday. I believe they had a dozen fish. Terry talked a bit about you Phil. Jay would call Terry or vise versa on the phone to exchange intel and id ask how they were doing when theyd get done talking. Terry would have like 6 and we had 2 then they had 8 and we 3. It was like we just couldnt keep pace yesterday. We were joking about being on that end of the stick and how we all have days like that. He said he's had that feeling after having a few on the water conversation with you...lol...Anyhow, wish you could have made it. Ill have to meet ya next time.
  2. Fished with Jay and Kevin yeterday on the Salmon Slut. Had a bit of a late start because of the wind. Didnt launch till it was breaking day and headed out in 5'ers. Finally made our way out and set lines. Hooked up relatively quickly and then had issues keeping fish buttoned up. A trend that continuted all day. Ended up 5 for 13. Fished 120-330 marked fish all over. Couldnt believe the cores werent poppin with lots of fish marked in the top 50'. Just one of them days, glad to get it outta the way. Death to fish from here on out!..lol....Thanks for having me aboard Jay. Also met up with Dirty Dog, Sea Mac, Priorty1 and Tall Tales at the Insta Launch after for a great bluegill dinner they were so gracious to share with us. Thank you very much. Your good people and i had a great time. Wish we coulda stayed longer, but we had to get going. Didnt get home till just after 9 pm. It was nice to meet you guys and thank you for the hospitality. Nice job on the fish as well. Hope your beating them up this morning. Heres what worked or took some hits. I think 2.4 was our best surface speed. 75 down 10" Glow blade, Dbl. crush glow SD w/riverside fly 65' and 80' down Pink Panties 65 down Green Dolphin 200 copper UV Raptor 300 Copper Chili Goose Bad Toad 10 color
  3. Thanks guys, thats a great start. Keep em coming. No shock to me Matt...Have had some great succsess with the long leads. A little lazier presentation for the big girls!
  4. Ok guys, looking to add somemore 11" paddles here soon and was wondering what you must have paddles are. Probably gonna get the Stinger Pro Chips and DW Paddles. If you want add the fly you like behind it as well. Always looking for a hot combo i may have overlooked. Thanks, go rip some lips.... have a great weekend. Adam
  5. I run mine 25-125'. Deeper i go the shorter i go. With flashers and flies i keep em 25-50' off the ball.
  6. LOL...I try like hell to give em all sore lips, but when they vacate the bay it makes it a bit tougher. Still plenty of fish around, just gotta work a bit harder for them than normal. Im sure your tournament will be a great succsess. Have fun and enjoy the festiveties afterwards...dont forget your BEANO!!!
  7. Ill be in Manistee in the morning. Good luck Ed.
  8. Nice job. Glad to hear the bigger fish are up there. I figured they were as the fishing down in the bay is pretty dismal IMO compared to recent past. I blame it on warmer temps. The fish remaining are on the smaller side, so we have plent of good year classes coming. Caught lots of fish from 6"-15" this summer and bigger. We're lookin good.
  9. Cant wait to get over there. Gimme a call and let me know the details on our departure. Looks to be a beautiful weekend! Gonna be blood and guts!!!...Hoorah!
  10. Not I...will be at the next port north of there. If your going, GOOD LUCK Ed...Knock em dead buddy!
  11. Fished the LBM and Campground tournament yesterday. Fishing was ok, just lots of small fish. Boated only 6 legal eyes and probably 12-15 sublegals along with a boat load of small sheephead and a few cats...One of which won me the biggest non walleye category. It was a 6.56# Channel cat good for $50. Ended up with 8.08# for 5 walleye:no: that put me in the middle of the pack. Also got a Daiwa 400H, a floating waterproof flashlight and a Linwood Corners food certificate. There was also a little meal afterwards. Had Kogels and everyone brought a dish to pass. Fun little tournament. Fished east of the black hole in 22.5'. Took all our fish on 1 oz inline weights and harnesses from 30-40' back. Pink, purples and chart. pattern harnesses seemed to be best. #4 and #5 colorados as well as macks smile blades. Also took a few on 3 oz. bottom bouncers. Speed of about 1.3 s.o.g. seemed best today. Lots of bait and fish, most ive seen in a month. Lotta nipping on the harnesses today. Seems to be a mix of white bass and perch. We caught several perch today, so if your game for those you may wanna head out. Probably some sorting to do, but i caught them from 3"-9" and seen some up to 12" at the cleaning station. All of which were coincidental catches by walleye fisherman. So a guy may do well if he targeted them specifically. Then, after that i met up with some friends from another site for a little outting we had planned. I ended up cooking walleye and hush puppies my mom made and ended up eating again. :thumb:I know JWheeler can apprecate a good "second dinner" too. Also lots of salads and a habenaro tarter sauce that was great. Got to see some folks i havent seen since our ice outting. We had allot of fun and it was a great way to wrap up my walleye season on Saginaw Bay....Ill cya on the ice. Now its time to head west for BIG fish. Ludington here i come!..FISH ON!!!
  12. My buddy just got the X4 and loves it. Im probably gonna go that route myself.
  13. High riggers, a couple high divers cranked out to 3 1/2 and lots of cores from 1-5 color. Pinks, oranges, chartreuces mixed with silvers are great bets. As mentioned, crank the speed up and keep an eye out for temp breaks/scum lines as they will likely hold fish. Otherwise theyre spread out and your gonna have to cover some water to find them. Thus the large wide board driven spreads that are so popular for steel. At the same time though, i wouldnt be affraid to put a couple riggers down low with some paddles and mag spoons and maybe even a couple low divers for kings.
  14. Nice job guys. Sorry to hear the weeds messed up your early plans. On a better note, at least its nothing you have to fix!
  15. Great work Frank. Been a different fishery for certain this year.
  16. That looks great Dennis. With less clutter on the boat now youll have to buy more rods to get it back...lol
