    Always used the Mason 30# 7 strand. 1000' fits perfectly on a Daiwa SG47LC..I like theyre Heartland Roller Rods as well. If you go with a roller rod, get one with Aftco guides or risk it jumping off the roller. Otherwise go with a twilli tip or a rod with metalic guides.

    I wish i knew. All i can think is its probably the destinct action imparted to the bait by each that make it more appealing one day over another. Fish are a strange creature. Its amazing how a subtle change can take a skeptic looker into a biter.

    Im a big fan of the Penn GTi or GT2 series reels. The 320,330,340 and 345 reels will handle your lead core and copper needs. Obviously, get the appropriate size for what you putting on it. Im also a fan of the Shimano Tekotas or the Daiwa Sealine series of reels. Good luck with your purchase.

    Im with Ken, i hate pinch pads. Nothing worse than getting the rigger down there and it pops when loading the rod. Blacks style releases allow for tons load on the rod, but release even with small fish. I used to fish allot of rubber bands, but got tired of always having to buy rubber bands, plus theyre going in the lake once they bust.

    Do you mean the troll master? If so, theyre very nice. You can finely adjust your speed in small increments. Also has some other features that are nice. Real popular with the walleye guys....And if i havent already done so, welcome to the site.

    Had some good hunts today. Ended up with another 12 birds. 7 in the AM, 5 in the PM.....I cant wait to get back to work. Ill be able to sleep in and its allot easier on the body!!!!....LMAO
