  4. Ill be out and i agree with Tony's sentiments
  5. Nice job Tommy! Is that the fist limit in the new boat? You have some great fish there bud!
  6. Nicely done. Ludington sure has been good as of late from what ive been hearing.
  7. With all things electrical...check the ground. Simple and often the source of electrical issues. If its not the ground and both connections are good along with the battery, then its probably the radio that needs repair....If you need a replacement, id recommend an iCom. Therye top notch IMO....Also, dont cut yourself short on the antenna. Spend as much as you can afford on it. A good antenna makes a big difference....But that doesnt sound like your issue. Good luck, let us know how it goes.
  8. Although i agree with most on the part of rod count, handling fish, fishing equipment etc, i would find it pretty lame to be ticketed for driving a boat or just being a passenger and not participating. Particularly if creel and rod count are in line with licensing on board. To me being a passenger or driving the boat would be no different than sitting on the bank of a river with no rod and reel b.s.ing with a guy fishing. Are you gonna get ticketed for that if you dont have a license? I sure wouldnt think so. And if i did, you can bet id be in court. Now, in closing, i cant imagine for one second getting on a boat and driving out on the great lakes as a passenger. There's such great fishing out there and why anyone wouldn't want to participate is beyond me...If i wanted to go for a boat ride id get a jet ski!!!! Have em get the day license and winch in some ><>....Itll be money well spent!
  9. Nice report....Welcome aboard
  10. Just an FYI you need to buy an auger to go with the ice gator unless theyve changed. Theyre are bar none the slickest electric model out there. Do they make one that turns a 10" auger yet?
  11. Im not a fan of the new augers as theyre in their infancy and have had some issues. If you can find a good used Jiffy or Strikemaster with a Tecumseh engine on it i would purchase one of those. They are fantastic units and have already proven they can stand the test of time. My Dad and Unlce have had theirs for like 30 years and ive had mine at for going on 10 years now. Reliable and can be had for 150-200 all day long. Thats the route id go and spend the remainder on whatever else you need for ice fishing. Good luck on your purchase.
  12. Heres the pics as promised

  14. Just got off the phone with my Dad and he and my Uncle fished the same spot today and had the same results. Bug hatch was worse today he said. He said another limit or two and he said we should go chase salmon...lol...I like the way he thinks!
  15. Well, it was sunny flat calm extremely hot and the bug hatch was in full swing. Fishing started off slow for us despite a graph loaded with fish suspended from 15-18' over 21' of water. Despite all our efforts we just could not get the fish to cooperate. Finally we started picking away at em, but for the most part they were sub legals. Finally i raised a couple lines extremely high in the water column to try and get in on the bug bite action. Shoulda did it well ahead of time because it was an instant succsess. Fish went from sub legals to keepers and in three passes we had our limit and lost a few more keepers. We ran 1 oz. inline weights with hanresses tied on 20# blood run fluorocarbon 15' off the boards running a little hot at 1.4-1.6 S.O.G. Chart and green beads with #5 copper confusion blades were the ticket. It was so hot i had my entire side set up identical. What a great way to spend a Sunday with my Dad! Ill get some pics up when i get a chance. Will likely be more towards weeks end as im downstate for work all week and dont have them at my disposal. Will get em up when i can.
  16. Well done and welcome aboard
