Awesome...What an absolutely gorgeous fish! -
I dont think gardens are all that much work myself. I work, fish and have a garden. I do most of the weeding/cultivating and watering in the mornings and evenings when its cooler out...all by hand mind you. I use a hoe, and a garden weasle to keep the ground busted up. Doesnt really take all that much time IMO. Plus i love heading out to the garden just before dinner and picking my meal. Nice and fresh and extremely convenient. My garden is 10'X55' and i get a pretty good yeild off it.

Tough to beat your own garden...We do it too. Will have sweet corn("gotta have it" and "peaches and cream") and, cherry tomatoes(sweet 1000's), Roma's and Jett Stars for sure, Jalepeno's, Green Peppers, Peas, Brussel Sprouts, Garlic and we just put in some Blueberry bushes. I dont have allot of room for a garden, but i get quite a bit in there. Fortunately my buddy plants a giant garden at his place and i can get cabbage, mild and hot bananna peppers, potatoes, mush melons and even green beans from him. We do allot of canning, so we have plenty for the entire year. It sure is nice to make you own spagetti sauces etc. from your own stock. Now, speaking of canning, i gotta get somemore silver fish...I justed checked the pantry and im down to 6 pints!!! Might have to dig a couple outta the deep freeze and put em through the canner to suffice until i get back over there.

Saginaw Bay Perch/Walleye Q & A.
Adam Bomb replied to Walleye Express's topic in Walleye Fishing Discussion
Thanks for your thoughts Dan. anthonyyost, I doubt theyll plant any ales, as theyre one of the reasons for the downfall of each species. The walleye have rebounded, hopefully the perch can too in their absense. If the statements on VHS from the DNR are true, that is truely great news! You didnt happen to catch if he meant all species or just for trout and salmon throughout the state? -
Saginaw Bay Perch/Walleye Q & A.
Adam Bomb replied to Walleye Express's topic in Walleye Fishing Discussion
Dan, do you think the predation is really that high on Y.O.Y perch? Reason i say that is for all the walleyes i clean in a year, more often than not the prey inside, if identifyable, is normally a shiner. Thats not to imply that i never find any perch, it just seems like i find ALLOT more shiners in walleye than any other form of forage....And this winter i was finding small white bass in some of the walleyes...I even caught a whitefish that had eaten two of these bite sized white bass. I think this is a good sign as we defintiely have a great population of white bass in the bay. Maybe the increase in the predation of white bass will create that buffer zone again and the perch can begin to flourish like they once did. I love the size limit he suggested. I think it would help the fishery allot by protecting those smaller fish. I think a reduced bag limit wouldnt hurt either. I would also like to see them stop netting until the fish are done spawning. It just doesnt seem right to net when allot of the big spawners are congregated and in such a vulnerable position. But of course, with so many other factors, only time would truely tell. Very interesting read. Thanks for posting that. -
Nailer, 2.0-2.5 is a great range for tots. Although fish will definitely bite worms at higher speeds youll likely need to add more wieght or adjust your leads to achieve depth as the increased speed will make them ride higher. Another good option for running both is a three way with a harness and tot...Works well with spoons as well. For spoons ill often times put a speed bead about 3' ahead of my tot, then clip on the spoon slider in the same manner as if you were salmon fishing.

I agree with Scott whole heartedly.

I personally dont think it makes any difference. Just makes it easier on us to keep track of things. I used to use allot of Bekley XT Solar for my walleye trolling apps...Now thats some stuff you can SEE!!!....On a side note, Power Pro is great line and i think youll be pleased with it. I run it on my High Divers and have had nothing but great luck with it.

Yes sir....OK, keep the fish pump running...Hows that sound?...I agree, the warmer that water gets, the more the bite will turn on....This rain should really get things going...Once things settle down a bit.

Nice job Frank, thanks for the great report...Keep pumping em!
