  1. Easy 2 man limit this morning 90-120 FOW east of R4 up north to N10 from 630-10am. Only one laker bite. Kept it around 3mph surfing with the waves. Ran just 2-4 lines, pulled them and made the run again. Went through the storm on the way home to help clean the blood off the deck. Finished 11/18 with a couple kings (14 and 9.5lb), a couple SH, a pink and the rest coho. SWR missed 4 in a row due to slack so we had to swap it for a normal DR...that was a first. Mag spoons on DRs down 50-65' got most of the fish (sand burr and ras carbon). Meat rig wire dipsies out 120-150'ish got smoked a couple times later in the morning but we lost both fish. Anyone else fishing Chicago?

  2. Lil Skater ran a 2 man spread with Andrew from Reel Lady from 5:45-10:30 this morning. We fished NE of the R4, from N09 all the way to N013 riding the strong leftover currents from the south. N09-N10 95-105' was best for silver. We finished 8/13 or so with 2 kings, 2 steelhead, 2 coho, and 2 lakers. SWR down 55' was the hot rod. It started the day with a mag ras carbon RV while it was overcast and then we swapped in a mag RV sand burr as the sun came out. It took about 8 hits. F/F and meat rigs were mostly quiet so we put another sand burr on the other DR down 50' in 95FOW while we were cleaning fish and it got smoked right away, 20LB king. 350 copper got a couple too, I believe both SH. The fish were jacked up today, lots of good jumps and runs. King was over 3ft long with an empty stomach.

  3. We headed up north near the R4 yesterday looking for kings. We set up in 100 FOW a little before 6am and put out a mag bad toad RV on the DR down 50ish, meat rig on a custom 9" green dodger on the other DR down 50ish, and 350 copper with mag RV ras carbon. We doubled up on kings immediately on the DRs, 17 and 15LB. As we were putting along at 1.5mph handling the fish we'd just landed, the lone remaining rod went off and turned in another nice king around 16LB. We stayed in the area another couple hours running between 3-6 rods and got a few 7-8LB coho, finishing 6/7. Wire dipsy meat rig and 8 color mag RV sand burr also got bit. We marked fish all morning but only a little bait, but our fish were loaded with alewives.

  4. We worked 90-150FOW with a 2 man spread during the middle of the day today. We finished 2/4 with a chunky coho and a laker. 3 hits came on the brads cut plug behind a yellow flasher on a wire dipsy out 140'ish. Long lines were quiet including 13 color and 350 copper with mag spoons and dragon slayer/fly. 120FOW was best.
  5. No hits in 2.5 hrs this afternoon working 55-130FOW out of Saugatuck. Ran long lines (6 color through 350cu) and dipsies.

  6. Worked the river mouth area from 8-12 this morning without much to show for it. Ran a mono mag lip, two mono J plugs, mag spoon on 4 color and dipsy with mag spoon which was bouncing bottom occasionally. Only bite was a northern in the river mouth. Salmon jumping everywhere around the mudline from 8-11am. We fished from the inside of the mouth to 50'ish but mostly worked the mud line with fish jumping in our wake. Surprised we didn't get bit.
  7. Thanks @FBD, appreciate the tips! Are you searching for temp / structure when chasing SH on this side of the pond? or is your approach the same as ours (cover lots of water with high/suspended lines and hope to get lucky!)
  8. Shakedown cruise for me today out of Saugatuck, lines in 830-11am. I normally fish Chicago but plan to start hitting Saugatuck every now and then. Ran a 300copper, 8color, and 175copper with mag spoons from around 50-90 FOW, 1-3 miles south of the harbor mouth. Finished with just 4 drum, no salmon or trout. I will be back in Saugatuck towards the end of the month -- are there usually some silver still around then?
