  1. Was ice fishing with tip-ups and I was jigging. A big bass took my jig, and then a flag went up, too!
  2. We caught a fair amount of Brown Trout including some nice ones on crankbaits this weekend in the Port Washington Harbor.
  3. The trout in the harbor are still biting. We caught some nice ones this weekend.
  4. BROWN TROUT! They were biting this weekend in the harbor. Here's the video (My son caught a fish in the strangest of ways on this trip, too).

  6. I took my new toy to the bass (and perch) pond to see if I could find some fish that would bite on camera, and it was a great day.
  7. My first time using an inline reel. I like this style I think better than a spinning reel for ice fishing.
  8. I'd been trying for weeks to catch some freshwater cod, and I finally got one. It was a big fatty!
  9. A surprise catch to say the least. Still fishing open water in Lake Michigan because the very thin ice on the inland lakes near me isn't thick enough to risk it on yet.
  10. A fishing company sent me a tackle box, so I loaded it up and then caught fish! I'm like a bridge troll.
  11. Took a crank bait over to the pond and caught some real nice Wisconsin Largemouth Bass.
  12. The secret pond isn't so secret to the otters (This pond is in Southern Wisconsin, by the way). They're in there, and chomping on the fish! I actually caught one with a chunk missing!
  13. Worms work for catching fish. Who knew?!
  14. Here's a creek fishing adventure, but there are big fish in here because the salmon have run upriver (coho and kings).
  15. Went up to the Peshtigo River in Peshtigo because I heard they have a Pink Salmon run. I was not disappointed. There were plenty of them in the river, and I managed to catch my first ever pink salmon, and so did my brother. No king salmon were in there yet, or I just didn't see them. Either way, it was an awesome trip. https://youtu.be/qjRGCJwSLtI

  17. I tried the closest spot to my house on the Wisconsin River, which is still over an hour drive, but not super bad like going to the Wisconsin Dells. Either way, I put the smackdown on the fish! It was a great day.
  18. Orangespotted Sunfish! So tiny! So pretty! My son and I both got a lifer on this trip.
  19. Went up north to Big Island Lake in Oconto County (northern Wisconsin) and went fishing with an old friend. The lake was really weedy, but it did have a couple deeper areas. I took the kayak into the deeper areas and worked the deep weed edge with a variety of things like swimbaits, jerk minnows, and the Ned Rig. It worked. Several nice bass caught and some pike.
  20. The pike went nuts for this surface lure. I'm talking airborne. Check it out.
  21. A very surprising catch with a very tiny jig. It kinda ruined my jig, though.
  22. Made my way through some thick brush to fish two different swamp ponds for bass. Also ran into some friendly raccoons.
  23. Was up north in Bayfield County and went fishing for big smallmouth. I found 'em and a lot of other fish species, too.
  24. Had a great kayak adventure down a very clear river and hooked into some bluegill, carp, smallmouth bass, and a big ol' bowfin!
  25. I forgot a float, so I used my floating sunglasses as a float for float fishing.
