  2. went out of holland for a shake down cruise with my new boat the Jim Bobber#2 the boat ran great with only a few small things to be tweeked.Best of all we went 8 for 11 all kings 8 to 14lbs. We fished 90 to 120 fow ,300 copper went once with a fire tiger Jp slammer proto type,150 copper went twice with another Proto type spoon ,kavorkian crinkle on one side and green crinkle on the other side with a white glow ladder back, two hits came on white dodger and green flie on a wire dipsie set on 1 1/2 175 back , 3 came on Carmel dolphin JP Slammer 55 down on rigger,2 came on NBK 65 down on rigger and 1 hit came on our new mixed veggies spoon 70 down on rigger. We got to try out our new fish hangin rack on the new boat! Jim Bobber
  3. Here is my new ride, a 20 foot sea ray cuddy cabin. She is rigged with two big john electric riggers 3 on a tree holders for boards and a spot for four dipsey rods!Next will be a new rocket launcher over the top but this is still in the design stage.First time out fishin with her we got 8 kings!!!! What a fish catching machine! Jimmy

  5. Hey Kevin give me a call I have the new colors of JP Slammers now.good job on the Kings I cant wait! Im going to try to go out this weekend but i may get another boat by then and if so i will be rigging it instead. Jimmy
  6. I always fish into the current or quarter it ,this has proven over and over to be the best trolling direction. The best way to figure out current is to have a down speed such as fish hawk or some other unit. Other wise you can watch your dipsie rods when you go into the current they will pull harder and bend more.My opinon is that Down speed is the most importent variable for catching fish. hope this helps just my 2 cents. Jimmy
  7. Well took our shakedown cruise tonight fished from 6:00pm til dark and went 4for 9 all lake trout ,all were released unharmed.Held a couple long enough for a photo and then released them.we fished 20 fow riggers down15 and 5 colors lead,3 colors of lead. All came on JP Slammer spoons. Root beer float, fire tiger ,mixed veggies, blue bubble, and green dolphin.all but the rootbeer float are new colors so it was great to get out and catch fish on them the first trip out.
  8. we found that copper with red, orange or glow on them do very well for lake trout in the spring. We have a few proto type jp slammers that we did very well on we even got a few kings on those spoons.they are ment to mimic gobiies and i think in the sring time the fish are on the gobies cus there isnt that many alewives around yet. Just my 2 cents worth. jimmy
  9. sorry for the late report but here it is . cleared the peir heads at daybreak and decided to not combat fish so we went south ,started by the sliders in 40fow set lines and immedietly took a double, one on 3 color with double orange crush jp slammer, and one on rigger 25 down with a killer green glow jp slammer, the next hit came as we were landing the second of the double on a beef eater jp slammer but it came unbuttoned.the next fish took a j plug on 5 color green with black ladder back.the next came on the other 5 color with a blue glow j plug this fish took 20 minutes to get in ,it was long but very slim and didnt way much. This all happened in the first hour in 45 fow and then it shut off so we ventured out to 70 fow with no results so we went back in to 45 fow and picked up another fish on 3 color and double orange crush jp slammer.ended up 5 for 6 on the morning. We had a rookie with us and he caufght all 5 fish. The water spouts where awsome to watch, from a distance.
  10. Thanks ,I have not tried that yet but have heard of guys doing it. jimmy
  11. Hey fin fan, What is an swr?I heard you on the radio last night but I don't know what that is?Just curious. thanks Jimmy
  12. went out last night for a couple of hours by my self, fished 90to120 fow 65 to 90 down went 1 for 5 all on spoons on riggers glow fire dog, beef eater, and pearl wonder bread JP Slammers. The temps where 44 deg 80 down out there with a south to north current I think I should have went out deeper to 130 fow sounds like they got em good out there.
  13. hey mike were is your boat? How did you do up north last week?

  14. we were strait out and then trolled norht into the current.
  15. went out of holland last night and went 7for12 in 112 to160 fow, with 112 being the best with lots of bait.we got everything from 59down to the bottom ,white dodgers and green flies worked early then glow spoons for the last hour and a half. glow fire dog, beef eater, glow frog, killer green glow, and glow lemon lime ice jp slammers.300 of copper,250 of copper, and riggers on bottom worked the best.the water temps were 55 deg all the way down to the bottom from45 fow to 170 fow so as of last night the lake has not turned over yet.
  16. went out of p.s. sat. mourning and went 8 for way to many,18 0r 19 we lost count . The first 2 hours were all spoons 40 and 50 down in 60 to 85 fow then we worked out to 130 fow ,glow fire dog, killer green glow and NBK jp slammers, then later the white dodger and green flie program started up accounting for 4 fish.what a great day of fishing we could have been done at 8:30 with 6 kings and a coho but we released a small king and fished for a while longer and picked up another coho and called it a day.
  17. Line dancin here are some of the best, Carmel dolphin, orange high ball, coyote ugly,NBK,and Beef eater.some other of my fav,s are killer green glow, orange crush,JJ Special, and MI. sunset. they all have there day but these are the ones I will run almost every time out. Hope this helps. Run them from 2.3 to 3.00 mph at the ball. with them behind the rigger 20 to 30 ft. run the oranges on 3,5,and full cores. Thanks for your bussiness. Jimmy vb
  18. we went out of P.S. this morning for the holland steelheaders mens tourney. We went 7 for 10 with 5 nice kings 1 laketrout 10.88lbs and 1 steelhead. we fished 50 to 75 fow near bottom. We got fish on riggers with mi. sunset ,NBK,and orange highball JP Slammers and fish on 5 color with orange highball, also got hits on wire dipsies 110 back with green e chips and green fern flies.I had a broken wire on my fish hawk probe so i fished without speed and temp at the ball.We came in 4th place in the tourney and had the largest trout. The biggest king was 18+lbs with two others within ounces of the biggest one.the winning boat( wet dreams) had ten fish and they had the biggest king as well so they had a great day, thanks to all who organized the tourney, well done. Jimmy
