Kevin were you south of holland? We had to be bounceing on bottom the other nite and trolled 1.6 to 2.0 at the ball .At least you chased out the black and white kitty!

went out of Holland with Paul and line dancin on board this eve. started in 75 fow set lines and trolled out to 120 fow with a lake trout program out,hit the first fish in 120 on rigger on bottom then went out to 130 with nothin so went back to 118 and had a double so we stayed in that 115 to 118 fow and trolled south to the ball in Saugatuck ended up with 10 for 11 , 1 steelhead,2 kings, and 7 lakers with another king coming unbuttoned cus it ran at the boat and we just could not catch up to it:rolleyes:.ended the night with a huge mess with two coppers and a dipsey getting together when the dipsey tripped and came up under the copper What worked tonight: tin can dodger on bottom on rigger with a green spin-n-glow 4 lakers white dodger on a wire dipsey 300 back with a green spin-n glow,1 laker tin can on the other rigger near bottom with two chartruese spin-n-glows 2 lakers one 11 lbs Michigan sunset JP Slammer on 150 copper 1 steelhead Beef Eater JP Slammer on 200 copper 1 king 10 lbs blue bubble dodger and flie combo on high diver back 3501king lost sea mac JP Slammer on 300 copper 1 small king Thanks Aaron for going with tonight, I wasnt very hopeful from all the meek reports from today but ended up having a great night fishin

Robert ,I am ussually the first guy to go in when I see lightning,in fact I got teased two years a go by a good freind cus He said all he saw was a big yellow streak(I had a yellow sea ray at the time) as I ran past him on my way in as a good storm came in,But he got wet and I didnt! LOL

Adam great job smacken them Honkers! The deeks look great to,I did the same thing to my big foots and you will like how they look with tails done to, I like mine and so do the honkers.I did not get out this early season I have had lots on my plate and just did not have time. jimmy

went out of Holland last night ,set lines in 170 trolled out t0 230 had one wack in 130 but got snapped!:(Pulled lines and went to 120 fow to fish for lake trout at 6:30 and as soon as we got the tin cans down we hit our first fish a nice 9 lb laker, fished that water until 8:00 and finished 4 for 8 alll lakers . got them all on the bottom with tin can dodger and spin-n-glow, the water temp was 45 deg. There is lots of trout between holland and Saugatuck just like capt. Ron pointed out in his post.Talked to some buddys at the cleaning station that fished the 230 to 240 last night and had 8 slamon ans steelhead so we gave up on the deep water just short of where the fish where:rolleyes:. They where fishing down 120 to 130 with spoons.The water out there was very warm you had to get down past 120 foot to get 50 deg. water. jimmy

Wow what a litning show this morning! We hit the Holland pier head around 6:00 am to see huge litning bolts to the north:eek:,the lake was not bad but we decided to fish the channel ,first pass we took a nice king on blue chrome spinnie with bluebubble flie on diver ,we had to land it by hand cus I forget my net! Duh! then hooked up again next to big red on a green glow J-plug on the rigger 15 down ,this fish snapped us off:mad: we then made one more quick pass before we hightailed it to the dock ,had to wait for the rain to pass before loading onto the trailer.Thanks to Nick C. and Brad for going out for the crazy ride this morn.

I will post what i do if we can fish. jimmy

welcome Brian, I would get church walleye boards to pull lead core and copper,yellow birds can be a little to lite.Also when you say 100 down with your mag dipseys are you 100 down or 100 back? 100 back isnt down 100 foot maybe 65 to 70 foot down.There is lots of great fisherman on this site who love to help others out. dave what is a wsp?

i have been using it for month or so now but just made the hook shield,the cap has a fitting that fits in the pvc with snug fit.I still have to add the key hole slots and may do it tomarow,will get some pics when i get it in the boat. jimmy

Well here are some pics of my new Dodger storage set up.It pvc with holes in the end for hooks to go into, mini bungi caords for the tension on thedodger end and a cap to keep any one from being impaled by a hook.I am going to mill in key hole slots on the side so i can attache it to my boat somewhere.What do you all think of this invention?

usually a gas money contribution is nice but not expected and maybe a few snacks or something the most important thing is you must have a good time thats the main point of fishing! , otherwise every thing else is covered , equipment ect.

Mark, good way to end the season,i hope to get out a few more times this season but also have to have work done on my boat so it may go in next week.If i go out later you are welcome to go with some time. jimmy

Its just fun trying to keep the streak goin but all good things come to an end,I have been close a couple of other times with last minute fish as we were pulling lines,I don't smack em every time out otherwise it would be called catching not fishing LOL! I have heard form a couple of other guys now that have run off shore that there are fish out there and they have been getting em 240 plus fow.
