  1. Hey Guys were is the south haven launch and is it DNR?And is it clear sailin out to the lake ,I may try it there instead of dealin with the crowds in st. jo , maybe next weekend. thanks jimmy

  5. mike what port do you fish out of? In Holland I like a southwest or North west troll ,I look for current direction and try to get my setup to run strait behind the boat.If the current is coming out of the north or south i look for the fish then turn into the current , just what i do, there should be others that will chime in . jimmy
  6. Jonas, I have an I/O so i have to wait for it to stop freezing at night but im ussually in by the second week of april.

  9. if your hinge pins arent in to tight you can use an allen wrench. This was some info given to me by my mecanic as i do not have one either.otherwise you can get one on ebay for 20 bucks i think.

  12. the wire has no stretch to it so it cuts the water better. Thats why most guys use power pro on the high divers and wire for the deep ones ,when catching fish on wire remember there is no stretch so you have to fight the fish a little easier but you will feel every little head shake and tail wag on the wire. jimmy
  13. also the east side of big bay is shallow, and just before the coast gaurd station stay away from shore,100 yrds at least i have seen plenty o boats stuck there.do not cut accross chippawa point go way out to the middle of the lake before turning west.Glad no one was hurt and your insurance is going to cover your repairs, are you fixing or replaceing your motor? Hope it goes well for ya. jimmy

  16. I went by the dnr launch today in Holland and the docks are in:grin: but big bay is still froze over so you cant get out:mad: hopefully it will clear out in the next week or so:thumb:. jimmy

  18. THey are getting out of Portsheldon in small boats and if the warm weather gets rid of the remaining ice in big bay Holland will be open as well!!!!!!! Come on spring!!!!!!

  23. aaron, I think russ does the sharpening by hand but not sure ,the hardware is south of holland on 60th st. take 32nd west to 60th turn south until you see it on the right side. just give me a call if you want. jimmy

I have run fire line for years and last year i had to replace those reels and was talked into using braid(power pro) and found i did not like it,I had several break offs, I dont remember what pound it was but anytime it touched anything else it seemed to part ways.I have never had fire line break even when tangled with wire. Just my experience with braid.
