  1. Happy Birthday Randy. You Yankee Doodle Dandy.
  2. Happy Birthday Hunter. I knew you were a firecracker.
  3. Good fishing and thanks for the report.
  4. Happy Birthday to our GREAT COUNTRY. Remember our troops, the native Americans, and our ancestors. Most of our ancestors left their native countries so they could have freedom. GOD BLESS THE USA.
  5. Buster, Pretty good fishing for having mechanical difficulties. You still made it happen after a bad start. I have a small socket set, end wrenches, adjustable wrench, 6 way screwdriver, channel locks, and some electrical tools aboard. It adds about 10# of weight but every now and then I get reminded of why I have the tools on the boat.
  6. I always wanted to do that. I almost did 2 years ago. It's definitely on my bucket list.
  7. Ya know I'm too old and square for that Sh--. I did a recon into the weeds to see what we could find. Four of us were going to fish this morning but the wind and storms made me think twice about that plan. About 2:30 this afternoon John B. and myself launched Priority1 and fished in some skinny water. We had some rolling 3 footers when we started and they just looked like they would lay down. We had a 6 inch chop when we came in. 8-12 FOW pulling 2oz bouncers and harnesses. It's rare when I fish in the afternoon. We boxed our limit quickly and headed back to port. Copper, Chartreuse, Glow, and Purple all worked with the edge going to the chartreuse. 1.5 MPH was the best speed. Keep it simple. No need for high dollar rigs. Force feed em the meat put in their face with some lead. I have seen the Bay in all of her phases and this is the best fishing I have ever seen. Get out there while the getting is good. Thank You Eyefull for the R.I.P. harnesses. The eyes like em.
  8. Here is a pic that I finally had time to upload. Going out this afternoon on a recon mission. Had to let storms pass. Pic from 7-2-2012
  9. Doug GJ with the kids. The entire Bay is on fire.
  10. Shane, GJ with the kids. The kids make it extra special.
  11. VG advice. Dropping the pitch increases WOT RPM. Not enough pitch is a good way to smoke an engine. Stay within specs.
  12. Ron, A warm welcome to the GLF site.
  13. Chuck A, Skip S, Rod B, and I took a 4 man limit Mon. The bugs were bad and the waves were calm. When the wind died so did the bite. It took us longer to get the last 5 than the first 15 and mine is always the last limit filled. It is somewhat important to capitalize on a good bite because it can shut down in a heartbeat. It was an enjoyable trip with some nice people. We fished 24 to 28 FOW pulling bouncers and meat. Our long lines were dead so we pulled them and squeezed in another 2 boards for a total of 12. A good crew and calm waters made this doable. The closest board was only 15 feet away from the boat. 1.5 MPH with a glow chartreuse being our best color but everything took fish. I was going to fish this morning Tue. but the wind off the buoys made me call it off. It may lay down later but I had some guys making a bit of a drive and didn't want to chance it. I'll be back out Fri and possibly Thurs. A 90 yo World War 2 Vet, that fished with me in the Walleye For Warriors event, will fish with me Friday. The Bay is HOT from Bay City to it's outer limits.
  14. GJ and a warm welcome to the GLF site.
  15. Stacey, A warm welcome to the site. Thanks for the report.
  16. Luke, GJ out of HB on the Sunrise Side.
  17. Joe, Here is a tutorial on how to post pics. I hope it helps. http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=219
  18. The Bay is on fire right now from Bay City to Tawas and Port Austin. I have fished the Saginaw Bay for walleye since the 80s and I have never experienced a year as good as this one. We are taking 6# fish down to 4 inchers. LOL The future is bright with all the different year classes well represented. Don't ever cuss those dinks because they are our future. Next year will be FANTASTIC also. We are throwing back a lot of fish that are in the 14s.
  19. Thanks for the east side report. I like Rockport.
  20. Joe, GJ and thanks for the report. There are a ton of fish in the system.
